This is probably very stupid and all but maybe, just maybe, the showrunners are hiding bonus episodes.
Hear me out.
The number of eps is 16 due to the fact that it makes the show reach 100 eps, the name of the show.
Unfortunately considering how little episodes are left for yet so many subjects to be treated, and considering that Bellamy and Raven made the count go up to 102, which was refered to in one of the early seasons when the code for a locket was 102 instead of 100 because '' you forgot bellamy and raven'', maybe it's an opportunity to do it again?
