Out of The Woods || Alex & Thomas
The so called apocalypse meant many things for different people. For some it was a fresh start away from the mundane jobs that they put up with day-in-day-out and for others it was freedom from those that scarred the lands with politics and war. For Alexis, however, it meant that she could be a completely different person -- someone who had never existed before -- it meant that she could put aside the things that had sent her life into a downward spiral and begin anew. The only problem was, the apocalypse didn’t erase the past. It just covered it up with a shitstorm of horror and blood. It was always going to be there; taunting her and haunting her unconscious hours. No matter how hard she tried, it was always there.
Taking a much needed break in a bid to clear those thoughts from her head, and to get away from the hustle of camp life, Alexis had taken a small trip into the nearby woods. She had a knife attached to her belt and a handgun strapped to her left thigh. The thought of using the weapons was daunting, but she had somehow convinced that they were a necessary evil -- much like her past actions, no matter how much she would hate herself for them and the fallout that they had caused -- and should always be on hand. Her trips like these were normally uneventful, occasionally with a walker or two thrown in, but today seemed to be different. Today there was something new to face -- someone that she used to know, in fact.
"--- Thomas? Oh my God, you're alive."
