everytime there is a hard situation girls in "the wilds" find hope in faith. whether it's religion, manifestation, belivies, good memories, anything positive it's what keeps them going.
the boys group goes straight to emotional reaction, mainly agression which almost never happens between the girls, who even when snapping at eachother choose distance instead of violence.
girls follow emotions as following intuition, leading to questions about reasons of them being there, which shows that we are maybe a more overthinking gender but it ends positively for us and it's a sign of intelligence.
boys don't question their reasons even once, focusing purely on survival and hierarchy in the group, even when given something so suspicious as a boat, they take it as an accident and tool to survive.
generally speaking, i think gretchen's project in the core was a very good idea and way more people should watch it. it's not even about how long both of the groups survived there (although girls stayed there longer and even the "rats" didn't give up) but how they functioned there. only one environment was truly safe and well functioning, maybe worse in the aspect of pure human needs but that's explainable by what girls vs boys are tought.
truly heartbroken that it got cancelled.
