One wonderful fic completed and I’m back! So, In chapter 16, I’m like pretty sure Alfred figured out and knows that Jason is Uncle Eddie. (Cuz Tim said “Uncle Ed, who is it?” And since Alfred responded to Tim he probably heard it) And now I’m wondering, How does Alfred feel about Jason pretending to be Uncle Eddie and living with Tim?
Is he just happy that two of his grandkids are getting along? Is he worried about where the actual Uncle Eddie is or if Ed even existed? What’s going through Alfred’s head?
wait this is such a good question.
okay so I've always seen Alfred as a very flawed man. I mean Tim's canon 16th birthday, making Damian Robin etc etc
My Alfred slightly less morally righteous than he is in canon, but he still doesn't exactly operate by normal societal standards.
After running into Jason in chapter 3 (I think), he runs the background check on "Uncle Eddie" for Bruce before he gets back to Gotham. Of course he immediately recognizes Uncle Eddie as the Jason he met at the grocery store. A normal person would have told Bruce or someone about this. A normal person would have also not allowed their charge to dress up as a bat and fight crime. So at that point, Alfred's just happy that Jay and Tim found each other. And Jay already said he doesn't feel ready to come home yet so Alfred kind of just let's them be. Tim and Jason can look after one another and when they're ready, they'll both join the Wayne's where they belong (or at least that's the conclusion Alfred's drawn). As for Uncle Eddie, Alfred genuinely couldn't care less. He's glad that it's Jason looking after Tim (he's maybe not considering the implications of someone who's barely an adult parenting a teenager that's only a few years younger than themselves) and he figures they'll move into the manor under Bruce's, and more importantly Alfred's, care eventually so he doesn't begrudge Jason the space he's asked for.
I'm going to be writing a Bruce POV chapter pretty soon so there'll be more on this next bit in the fic, but when the whole Red Hood identity reveal happens, Alfred finds out with Bruce in canon. I'm not changing that, so Alfred does in fact know that Jason is Red Hood. Again, normal people would say something about this. Red Hood puts Tim in danger. But also Damian tried to kill Tim and not long after, Alfred made Damian a Robin suit behind Dick and Tim's back. So I don't really think Alfred's got a particularly strong moral compass in that sense. So again he's kinda just figured that they're supposed to be brothers and that Jason would never consider hurting Tim no matter how upset he is with Bruce (ha!). Not that the faith is misplaced but logically it's kinda questionable to assume with the evidence at hand.
hawaii five 0 is doing better than twd right now and honestly im okay with that
when a level 500 mercy main asks to play mercy after a level 100 with two hours on mercy proves to be actually deaf
and they dont say anything back and are obv blind too
