“Well, hoy, darlin’.” 

Ears. That’s probably the first thing to be noticed - there’s kind of a lot of them, after all. Fennecs are like that. Next is probably the Grin - it deserves a capital, it’s very definitely a proper noun, it’s a thing all unto itself. He’s leaning against nothing in particular, doing a remarkably good job of making the place look attractively scruffy just by existing.

“S’been a while since I’ve been ‘round here. Got a mite sidetracked with my wife, bounty huntin’ off in the 1880s. Felt like returnin’ to her roots a bit, y’follow? But aww hell, m’bein’ rude. Here.” A hand’s offered.

The greeting and visit are neither expected nor unexpected -- they’re just a thing that happen sometimes. He has certainly grown used to Tai popping in now and again. But upon seeing the strain in Tai’s grin he stops dead in the middle of an amused eye-roll, narrows his eyes, and tilts his head ever so slightly in something between curiosity and concern.

“Dull, to say the least,” he replies with a look at the stacks of books and papers on his desk and a hint of amusement. And he stands, and gestures for his guest to follow him out of his study and into the central chamber of his quarters, letting the door click shut behind them as he leads Tai onto the balcony and into the summer sunshine. 

      “You know,”                 Tai claimed Mike’s attention when he spoke,                  directing the devil’s gaze with mere nods of his                  head.         “I think she’s checking you out, you should go say hi.”

This had seemed so much easier when he’d been standing across the room.

He swallows, standing in front of, well. Cat. Big, pretty scary pretty leopard cat woman with glasses, tall and pretty and teeth and tall. His ears droop, and he fights the urge to wring his tail between his hands, instead, just - trying to smile.

“H-hi, you’re, uh, you’re really pretty.”

Easy, right?

“Not,” No. No stop, says his brain. “Not that I was staring or anything you’re just, uh, you’re really easy to spot. Styx. That wasn’t a pun!” Oh Nessus please stop talking. “You’e, uh, you’re just - just really tall, you know? I - I mean that isn’t a bad thing, being tall isn’t a bad thing you just, stand out?”

“IN - IN a good way you stand out in a good way I mean you’re really pretty and very tall and you caught my eye NOT THAT I WAS STARING I just NOTICED because I looked over and I saw you and you were pretty so I thought I’d come say hi and aw Styx I -”

She has his... card.

Daine has been eyeing the infuriating little cardstock rectangle for the better part of the day, trying to match the unintelligible string of wingdings that is trying to pass as her brother’s ‘telephone number’ to actual symbols that her phone can produce. Not only have her attempts been without any measure of success, oh no.

The symbols keep changing on her. Frankly, if she didn’t need to speak to her brother, she would eat the infuriating piece of paper and be done with it.

As it is, she’s growling smoke.

In a moment of impatience, she pulls a credit card reader from her bag, plugs it into her phone, and swipes Tai’s business card through it. “Can’t do any less than anything else I’m trying...” She mutters, in irritated Infernal.

The screen beeps.

Kate has stolen Tai's jacket. Enough was enough, you see, and she - having seen him pull a desk out of God only knows where for the umpteenth time, had finally snapped, confiscating the garment in an attempt to get to the bottom of where the holy heck do you keep things?
