SasuHina Month
Day 1: Trampoline
No profits are being made off of this. In case my Full Time job didnât tip you off on that.Â
This is a drabble I wrote branching from @delightfulharmonypoetryâs Runaway. I just had to borrow the kids for this one. I did ask for permission on this in case you were wondering. The plan was to post in the afternoon but Iâm an impatient ho so here it is early. (:Â
The return of spring and warmer weather invited for a lot of time spent outside. The sunâs gentle rays on cool skin and endless blue skies were enjoyed as days got longer in preparation for summer.
Sasuke was happy he could indulge his familyâs days and afternoons with running and playing in the well-kept backyard of the home he and Hinata had put together. He had gone to great lengths to ensure the children would always be safe and that Hinata could rest easy whenever they ventured outside to enjoy the weather.
So he was incredibly annoyed when one âuncle Kibaâ had shown up one Saturday afternoon, unannounced and red faced from exertion of hauling a heavy box up their drive way. It was one thing to drop in, but to drop in with âgiftsâ had Sasuke reaching for the nearest sharp object to throw at his âfriend.â
One look at the colorful label on the box had Hinataâs brow furrowed in worry, bottom lip pulled in between her teeth anxiously as the kids crowded around Kiba and the box.
âWhat is it?â Itachi had asked, coming from around Sasuke to get a closer look. Sasukeâs plan of covering the box with his body before the boys could understand what was being offered to them wasnât working out as Naruto squealed in delight.
âA trampoline! It was on sale. I thought to myself, âI know a couple of kids who could get some real use out of this.â So who wants to help set it up?â
Sasuke was about to interject with a stern âthanks but no thanks,â but the kids were too fast. Naruto and Itachi were already clawing at the box, tearing at the cardboard viciously as Sora hovered just behind them, drawn downstairs from the commotion. Her mischievous grin a mirror image of her fatherâs as she watched her younger brothers get to work.
Haku came and stood by Sasuke, watching with mild interest as the others started dragging the pieces of the rig towards the back door. The three of them shouting promises to come back and pick up the mess in a minute.
âThisâll be interesting,â Haku chuckled, trailing after them with his hands in his pockets.
Hinata ran a hand over her hair to smooth it. âYou⌠really shouldnât have Kiba.â
âThatâs putting it lightly. I hope for your sake the first emergency room visit is for a minor injury because Iâm sending you the bill on that one.â Sasuke bit, finally resigning himself to helping his children with putting together their new toy lest they do it wrong and it falls apart mid-use. Kiba had the audacity to beam at them.
âYou guys worry too much, theyâll be-â
A loud crash followed by a peel of laughter and angry shouting as an argument erupted outside cut him off. He frowned.
âFirst ER visit you said? Iâll pay for the second one too.â
