@thaneirstaer asked: Strength and the Wanderer
Strength (Strength, courage, patience, control, compassion)
Tarot Starters
The Wanderer hadn't meant to have a breakdown, but it seemed to be happening more frequently these days. Growing up, it was never a problem for her. She got her seasons in her twenties when she was emotionally stable enough to control her magic as an Eladrin, and she'd been using the magic the Horae granted her since she was sixty. One hundred years of control and now here she was, trying to rein in the frost that surrounded her on the ground. It was spreading with her increasing panic, an aura of cold and ice.
Gods, it was pathetic that this was happening now. It was a terrible time for it.
The monster knew which buttons to push, which form to take to rattle her. She didn't know who or what shape it took for Thane to try and throw him off, but the shape of her dead mother on the ground, blood pooled around her, was enough to set the Wanderer off.
She forced herself to look away and saw ice spreading over Thane's armor. That was enough to snap her out of it and try to regain control of her wintery magic. She was going to freeze him too if she wasn't careful; her worry for his well-being overpowered her fear.
The Wanderer aimed a shaking hand at the form of her mother and threw a ball of purifying flames at it. The monster screeched and lurched away, image fading as it scrabbled at the stone floors to escape the blue flames.
"K-kill it!" She didn't think she had it in her to do more than put up a blessing around Thane to make him stronger at this point. Her voice was smaller when she said, "Please..."
Whenever he downed it, she knew she had a few apologies to make. Gods, she hoped he wouldn't be upset about it. At least he had enough self control and bravery to not freeze up like she had.
