not to contribute to the discourse™️ but I saw someone listen to the fate of ophelia and say they didn't like taylor using modern slang/words like... she's a 35 year old popstar do u want her to sing in shakespearian dialect?? she's always used modern phrases and references in her songs ("with no-one around to tweet it" "you just need to take several seats" "dress up like hipsters" "sit quiet by my side in the shade/and not the kind that's thrown" "free rent livin' in my mind" "in my feelings more than drake") so why are ppl acting like "keep it 💯" has come out of nowhere when she's just doing what she's done throughout her songwriting and taking a popular phrase/word and putting her own spin on it. like I don't understand the need some ppl have for taylor to be some kind of poet or highbrow lyricist when she can do both serious and silly lines well, and that's what makes her so special as a songwriter

In the Fate of Ophelia mv the actress in the Sequins are Forever rope scene appears to be named after Taylor’s Mom’s dog, Kitty Finlay…
…Kinda feels like she’s describing herself like a dog on a leash.

So this rope back stage scene for the Sequins Are Forever movie with Kitty Finlay is definitely interesting to me for a two reasons.
1. She has this man touching up her makeup in the same exact way Trav4 did it on tour. As she’s singing “…no longer drowning and deceived all because you came for me.” Fans characterize trav4’s moment on stage where he carries her to the chaise lounge as him saving her but the whole bit he’s begging her to keep up the show for him. So this section being for a film called sequins are forever is interesting.
2. That ladder stands out.
Something about her being hoisted up while tied up in ropes and positioned to look enticing rather than having her own agency to climb the ladder is truly interesting.
