On the same end Megatron being “redeemed” and still being an asshole is my favorite thing ever. He probably felt like he was trapped in his head with Unicron for eons but Optimus wouldn’t give him forgiveness just because he abandoned the Decepticons the moment he got his control back. He deserves to have Optimus finally tell him what for — what he needs to hear not what he wants to hear.

Coz yk its either killing him to end the war or its having his ex finally air out everything that’s been plaguing him since the war started (and since he was revived).

This also might play into the “Optimus remembers the Orion Pax arc” truther in me where the first thing Megatron decided to do when he got Orion back was to manipulate and brand him. Yk that probably revealed a lot of the red flags he missed in the past that his friends, especially Ratchet, would’ve warned him about.

RID15 or after could’ve been the first time OP actually had proper time to just sit and think about… everything. Especially his relationship with Megatronus. And it probably would’ve raised a lot of questions (like, was the Megatronus he knew actually real? Was any of what Megatronus felt and said real?). And yet he’d probably still choose to give Megatron a chance after it all to finally work towards change, he just needs a couple very strong words thrown at him first to get him to finally stop grinding his teeth about it.

Disbanding the Decepticons and leaving them out to pick up the pieces isn’t gonna make Optimus forgive the guy for literally everything he did ever. But he will give Megatron a chance to prove him wrong, and he should take it. Or yk go to prison like Starscream and Soundwave did haha. But yk that’s the last thing that would actually help Megatron and would likely just make everything worse.

Megatron’s not entitled to forgiveness, and Optimus wouldn’t be giving it to him. But he can work to prove to Optimus especially that he’s still worth fighting for and can change like everyone else and like Orion had originally sought after.

So far the only time I’ve made fankids for tf its been opmeg, but this time Barricade is involved too 🫵. What a normal functional family.

Their root modes are both are predacons, a Dragon (Pollux) and a Griffon (Castor). Growing up, they were inseparable; even when Castor was getting into trouble, Pollux would never leave her side.
