Faith is not believing God can do something. Faith is not hoping He will do something. Faith is thanking God in advance. Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."- Mark 11:24 " So wait a minute! I’ve got to thank God in advance before I get it in order to get it?”.. Yes! If you thank God after you’ve got it, that’s gratitude. When you thank Him in advance, that’s called faith. Let's say for example someone handed you a cheque right now for a thousand pounds, would you wait until you cashed it to say “thank you”? No! You’d thank that person right away. Yet the thousand pounds wouldn’t really be yours until you actually cashed it, because that cheque is simply a promise. When you are given the cheque, you can genuinely say thanks, believing that the promise is credible and that the person has enough money in the bank to cover that amount. Faith is like that. It is thanking God in advance. If God is telling you to go after something, start thanking Him NOW because it is already yours.. Signed, sealed and delivered! Do you need a miracle? A breakthrough? A word from God? Healing? It’s time to expect GREAT THINGS!   Hebrews 11:6 tells us that our FAITH pleases God. We need to understand that if God is going to do something, He looks for people who have EXPECTATION. In Luke 3:15, we see desperate people in eager expectation of their Messiah’s coming. One translation says that the people were on tiptoes in anticipation and expectation.   Our God is all-powerful, yet we limit His work in our lives when we refuse to believe in His ability and His victory. James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. As a believer we are not excluded from the trials of life!.. We all go through our highs and lows.. and yes, life can have some very low lows!.. Thankfully the Bible teaches us how to overcome these challenging moments and God is always there to guide us along the way.. He never leaves our side. We are also blessed to have those around us who are of the faith to help us pray and to encourage and motivate us through prayer and the Word when things get tough, seldom do we have to walk through tough times alone. That's the great thing also about having a church fellowship! In this lockdown season let us be reminded of those we haven't seen for awhile to reach out and say hello or those who are going through physical or emotional battles... What are the needs in your church fellowship today? Is it physical healing, emotional pain, depression, marriage trouble, financial challenges, addiction, rebellious child, aging parents, job difficulties, mountains to be moved, giants to be defeated? God will always meet the needs of His Churches and every one of His children who remain good stewards of all He has entrusted to them... In Philippians 4 we read that the Philippian Church was the only Church to give monetary support to Paul’s ministry after he left the Greek State of Macedonia of which Philippi was the capital. The Philippian church can teach us some valuable lessons in being good stewards of all God has given us. Paul knew what it was to be in need, and he promises the Philippian Church, “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” We must always remember there is a big difference between our wants and our needs. A NEED is something is that is absolutely essential, something that is indispensable, something that you and I must have in order to live. For example.. food, water, shelter, clothing and transportation are things we all need in life. They are absolutely essential and indispensable. We must have them in order to survive. A WANT is something I would like to have, something I may wish or long for, something that I find desirable, but it is not something that I must absolutely have. I can live without having all my wants supplied, but all my needs must be met. What are you expecting from God?.. Do you have an expectation that God wants to do great things.. or have you just resigned yourself to more of the same?.. God has wonderful things ahead for each one of us... We need to be live each day with hope and expectation. I believe that we can go further and ask God for His goodness in and on our lives and then to respond with faith and expect that very thing to become a reality in our daily lives. With each new day, month and year we should be living with a constant expectation that God is going to do great things. What does it mean to live with this expectation that God wants to do wonderful things? A. To look forward to something. B. To anticipate (excitement) or look forward to the coming or occurrence of something. C. To consider something probable, likely or certain. (Faith) Hebrews 11:1 What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. Our worship should not be limited to Sunday church services. We need to continually spend time in God's presence. When you’re facing an impossible situation and don’t feel as though you stand a chance, start giving the Lord honor and praise. When you worship God, miracles happen. By spending time with Him, by showing Him your heart to worship, you will be transformed — changed — into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. This is God’s goal for you — to make you more and more like Jesus with each passing day. What does our worship do? Worship will help you surrender your fears, frustrations, hurts, and problems to the Lord. Worship signals your recognition that He alone holds the answers to your struggles and that you cannot resolve your problems on your own. Stop relying in your own strength! As believers our faith is found in the Lord God Almighty.. Who is our comforter in times of trouble.. Our protector and sustainer.. He will never leave us nor forsake us.. Regardless of what we see or hear.. Our God is bigger! Our faith is unshaken!.. . He has given each and every one of us in Christ Jesus the power and authority to speak life over every dead situation.. Just as God commanded Ezekiel to prophesy over the dry bones in the valley and they came to life.. Speak life over every situation you are facing today.. Watch God fight your battles.. Watch God turn your situation around.. There is nothing too hard for God.. . Isaiah 41:10 'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand' ... In times of tribulation.. Press into God.. Trust that He will deliver you..
