This one is important for everyone but even more so for international students.  It is important to have a group of people to be there for you through the good and the bad and so you want to go out of your comfort zone and make friends.

Go to OISS if you’re an international student

Take the time to apply for scholarships. Even going to a community college puts a dent in your wallet.

Use a planner. Don't fall behind. Don't fall into un-organization. Most of the points come just from showing up. Go to your professor's office hours. They will give you extra points or bump you up if they know you. Study more than a day in advance. If your shot tally is over 6 take a 30 min break at least.

Live on campus two years, you'll meet even more friends and have a better time/dorm

Go out and meet people in your classes. It makes studying a lot easier and you can ask for notes if you miss classes. It might also give you a reason to show up to class.

Get out of your room!!! Your roommate doesn’t have to be your best friend. 

MSU has a lot of career services. Take advantage of those when building your resume or trying to apply for jobs.
