Using an interactive mini-book is a super fun way to engage students! Here, I created a character study mini-book for Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly. Students analyze the book’s characters and assign traits to each one based on text evidence. The last page holds an essay where students reflect on a character’s journey and how that character changed throughout the course of the novel as a result of story events.
