If Varric dies, I would prefer a more drawn out death or mortal wound it takes him an absurdly long time to succumb to so he can pass on at least five versions of his "last words."
One of these, the true last statement probably, will be for Hawke, whether they are alive or dead.
We throw Bianca a last word or two.
A few for various others or the world at large to add to his legend.
Importantly, one of these "last words" has to be a declaration of love for Cassandra, BUT it must be followed by laughter and the phrase "she'll eat that shit up" to keep it ambiguous and lessen the impact, primarily for the people who romanced Cassandra in their Inquisition playthroughs.
