i should be asleep. rabbits are incredibly important symbols for tetch — especially white and brown rabbits, as they mirror both the white rabbit and the march hare respectively. he tends to mimic their actions too — such as thumping his feet against the floor or twitching his nose or tilting his head curiously. anytime he sees a white rabbit anywhere ( in real life / on tv / in photos ) he anticipates alice’s return ( since she followed the white rabbit ). when it doesn’t happen he gets real sad about it.
he has a fondness for little creatures such as mice ( seeing as he primarily worked with them as a neuroscientist studying free will and the brain ) and rodents and oftentimes has them at his tea parties. he just picks them up off the street or in alleyways and gives them a home. if he’s not mind controlling them they usually run off ( and though he gets mad about it sometimes ) he lets them, believing that they’re just off to get something or bring something back. he doesn’t really have a good grasp on object permanence when his mind starts to deteriorate so he believes that the mice he keeps finding are the same ones who have just come back.
he’d attempt to get the cheshire involved in his tea parties too, but he’s mildly afraid of cats …
