I’ve been on tours with other tour companies to places like Machu Picchu, Galapagos, Italy and Turkey. They were all good, but this tour had something extra. I’ve also travelled solo a number of times. First of all, on this tour we stayed in one place for 2-3 days which makes such a positive difference. Moving almost daily is wearing. For me it’s always tempting to want to see everything, but I know it’s preferable to go to fewer places at a more relaxed pace. Your tour did this very well. The accommodations were very good - comfy, good service and some amazing views. Mark was a wonderful tour guide. He’s charming, funny, knows a ton about Scottish history, culture and current issues and was open to discussing it all. I couldn’t believe how flexible he was and how he made himself available to us “over and above”. Pretty remarkable. And Scotland is a beautiful country, so what’s not to love. Traveling on my own for 10 days following the tour made for an interesting contrast. While I was ready for some alone time, I know my experience of Scotland was richer than my time in York and Keswick because there was no “Mark” to provide the information, insights and access to transportation we received in Scotland. Overall, this trip surpassed my expectations.
