Summary: Yuuji had prepared a surprise for his boyfriend. However, he was concerned for his reaction. 

Ship: Terushima Yuuji/Ennoshita Chikara.

I think you must be like a friend of my soul because I love TeruEnno. You’re just picking all the things that I’ve never gotten to dig into before >:)

Terushima hones in on Ennoshita the moment  that he finds out that Enno is the next Karasuno captain. 

He goes in with the intent of rustling his feathers, working him up, getting under his skin. A simple intimidation tactic, that backfires on him MARVELOUSLY when Ennoshita gives him that first stank face that seems to speak “leave me alone”, yet, draws Terushima closer and sucks him in.

That face. That adorable, grumpy little face. Its a challenge. One that Terushima gladly takes on.  He wants to get behind that irritated look that always seems to grace Ennoshita’s face whenever he approaches him at a tourney or when he seems him in public.

Ennoshita will never know who gave Terushima his number, because if he did, they would promptly have to take a trip to the hospital because Terushima likes to text him around 3 am regularly.

At first, Terushima is nothing more than a minor annoyance for Ennoshita.  Then a major annoyance. He isn’t quite sure when Terushima starts growing on him, but when his friends call him out on smiling like a goofball at his phone while reading a text from Terushima, After being given the third degree by his teammates, Ennoshita has to recognize that he may have a big problem on his hands. 

Terushima definitely isn’t the kind of person Ennoshita would normally go for, but there is a certain allure of having the bad boy chase after him for once. 

But even then, even when he is tantalized and intrigued and almost willing to let himself give in, he can’t let himself completely relax when talking to Terushima because he doesn’t want Terushima to district him. And, he has difficulty fully trusting him, because he isn’t sure if Terushima is being genuine. 

(That will be something they have to deal with throughout their relationship. Terushima just doesn’t know how to be serious. It sometimes just seems like Terushima is playing a game sometimes).

Despite Ennoshita’s initial reluctance, Terushima is an incredibly doting boyfriend. He’s almost constantly in contact, via text or video chat. He constantly compliments (embarrasses) Ennoshita by reminding him how good he looks, what he’d like to do with him in the various locations they are, and genuinely just oversharing his feelings.

Ennoshita is a little bit more reserved in his affection, but Terushima always knows when Ennoshita is in a cuddly way because he doesn’t immediately push him away when he tries to hug him and kiss his cheek.

Also, Terushima is just such a brat. He blows raspberries on Ennoshita’s cheek instead of kissing him, and if he’s feeling especially snotty he may even lick his cheek. Which isn’t attractive at all, and may just earn Terushima a slap.

But, Terushima makes up for being a brat by rubbing Ennoshita’s shoulders until he either falls asleep or his body turns into absolute jello.

Terushima wiped a tendril of sweat from his brow while his other hand was busy filling pint after pint in his lively tavern. Johzenji was the only island in the Caribbean that was pirate friendly, and his tavern was the only one there that could hold up to the high occupancy of boisterous brigands drinking, dancing, and fighting all day and night without collapsing into a heap of rubble. Terushima and his buddies were energetic and constantly in good humors, and not only could they keep up with the crowds, they instigated many of the songs and dances themselves. However, since the destruction of the Karasuno, Terushima had hired Narita Kazuhito to cook for them for a while until their new ship was completed and now his tavern was bursting at the seams. With the addition of delicious food, the pirates were clamoring for a meal and even more alcohol to accompany it, and while Terushima was pleased with the extra income they were making, he was exhausted.

He drew in a deep cleansing breath as he finally had a moment where no patrons were piled onto his counter. As always when he had a moment to spare, his sharp brown eyes flicked over to a table near the bar where a lone figure was bent over a pile of notebooks and his quill scribbling vigorously into them. Ennoshita was scrunching his nose in that cute way he does when he was fully immersed in his work, and Terushima wanted to hop over the counter and kiss it til he blushed like a tomato. His brown eyes looked a little sleepy, but he knew from the way they flickered back and forth over his work that he was wide awake and focused.

Terushima’s fingers began to itch, craving to sneak up Ennoshita’s shirt and tease him. He’d had many lovers before, but he’d never been so taken with one before since the stern and quiet man was subtly exciting in his own way. Like a petulant child he wanted Ennoshita’s attention all the time but reminded himself it was enough that the other man was working at a small table in his noisy tavern instead of the peaceful residence Sawamura had purchased near the rear docks for himself and his crew.
