          he wasn’t surprised that he ended up at a PARTY. it was routine for him at this point. but he was SURPRISED when he saw the other there. they’d ran into each other a couple of times - hardly any words were exchanged. they’d danced, shared a cigarette outside. but elliot couldn’t get him out of his mind. 

           he was even more SURPRISED when the other had taken a seat next to him on the couch. elliot flashes a smile towards him, small chuckle leaving his lips. he raises his drink in a form of a toast, taking a sip. and then the other leans over, saying SOMETHING in his ear. he’s unsure if he heard him right. but he leans in himself, moving to speak in his ear.

l   i   e   s.        they  chain  together,    rusty  links  that   weigh  heavy   against  your  chest - - - -   CHAIN-METAL    for  on-going  wars   that  promise  only   BAD  PEACE,   which  is  not  so  much  better.   But  that’s  not  quite-right,  is  it?   NOT YOUR LIES  /  NOT YOUR TALE.     No,   because  you  don’t  lie  to  protect  yourself.   Not  necessarily.  Your  lies  twist  truths  for  the  sake  of  conquering  up  an  illusion  and  deflection ,   not  protection,  not projection.   How  can  it  be  for  your  protection  if  they’re  all  killing you.    You   don’t  want  to  lie anymore,   but  all  you  were  ever  taught  was  that. Honey,  you  need  to  lie  or  they’ll  take  you  away  /   I’ll  kill  you  if  you  say  a  word  /   Philip,  please.    - - -   shit  like  that.   The  kind  that  brought  this  bad  peace,  this  war  you  fought  for  the  sake  of   others.   For  the  sake  of  survival.  For  the  sake  of  ‘please  don’t  leave  me,  I’ll do anything ,  I’ll - - - ‘ 

          what lie have you told that hurt someone ?  

                                     Intoxication  makes  thought  process  slow,  but  a  heart  more  heavy,  making  bad  posture  only  worse  as  Atlas  stumbles.   The  skin  on  his  face,  that  feels  heavy,  too - - -  expression pulling  towards  where  his  eyes  look  at  the  fingers  on  his  lap.   Can  you  image  blood  on  them?

It’s  a  pout ,  a  re-crossing  of  arms,  and  lungs  aching  with  ghosts.   ❛       I  definitely  told  one  that  did... ❜   a  sigh,  no  ghosts  escape  from  it,  Intoxication  makes  speech  slow,  and  there’s  already  a  scar  on  his  tongue  from  biting  down  this  truth  forbidden  for  too  long,  sealed  in  his  mouth  by  toxic  kisses.

forehead  creased,  chest  aches,    ❛ God,  ❜   his  fingers  on  his  lap  begin  playing  with  each other  in  a  vain  attempt  for  comfort ;  he  could  barely  feel  them  in  this  drunken  state ;  but  he  could  feel  the  sore  feeling  in  his  throat,  choking  up  even  now  years  later.   ❛ I   never  wanted  to  hurt anyone...  but,  people  just  get  messed  up  because  of  me.   And -- I  just...       the bar is crowded, but she only has him in sight.  names haven’t been shared among smooth lines & crisp banter.   yet she feels his attention is all on her.  just as she plans.  doesn’t help that her fingertip presses under his chin.  or how close their faces could touch, if she angles into him.
