“Oh, hi there, Doc. Matt told me I should pay you a visit to introduce myself and probably get a check up while I’m here. I’m Hank, and he really needs to stop understating how hot his friends are.”

“You must be Anya! Matt’s told me you are the team doctor? I’m actually a doctor myself!” Scarlet smiled as she reached out her hand for a handshake. “He didn’t tell me how hot you’d be! Maybe we can exchange medical journals, talk about unique things we’ve come across in our fields?”

After YJ was born, Saturday nights became Netflix nights. Maya would get the baby to sleep and then lay her head in the blonde’s lap to binge watch whatever show or movie caught their fancy.

“Hey. Connor told me you could bandage this up,” Adrian said, lifting his hand to show off his bleeding knuckles.

“Maya and her incessant need for authentic Spanish food. I’ll show her authentic,” Marcus chuckled, grabbing a knife. He glanced over his shoulder at Connor who seemed to be searching through the refrigerator. Things had been less tense recently. Less hatred seemed to be directed his way. Typically, Marcus was accepted by Anya and Maya or ignored by everyone else. Today, even Connor seemed to tolerate the man’s present, managing to crack a smile at the comment. Well, perhaps today wouldn’t be too bad.

“There seems to be a higher amount of tension among your friends than usual.”

"Your friends don't seem to like me very much," Marcus pointed out. Not that it mattered to him. He wasn't doing this for them. He set his bag on the cot. His entire life was in that duffle and the backpack on his back. He tossed the book he was currently reading onto the bed as well.
