Tenways Redefines the Shared City E-Bike
Quality electric bicycles come with a hefty price tag. Therefore, why not acquire a single one for communal use? This concept underpins the Tenways CGO Compact e-bike, which my wife, teenage daughter, and I have been using jointly for the past fortnight. Its design allows for swift adjustments, requiring no specialized tools, ensuring a snug fit for individuals of diverse statures. ThisâŚ
Tenways nearly perfects the shareable city e-bike
Good electric bikes are expensive. So why not buy one and share it? Thatâs the idea behind the Tenways CGO Compact e-bike Iâve been sharing with my wife and teenage daughter for the last two weeks. It adapts in seconds without any tools to comfortably fit riders of varying heights thanks to its low-entry frame, quick-release seat post, and height-adjustable handlebar. It also takes up lessâŚ
It's very hard to post on a dark day. The last 24 have hurt with the loss of Larry Harvey and other sad things happening in my personal life. Drove up to Littleton NH, grabbed a coffee and worked on #selfawareness #tenways and anl #actionplan to correct my course. Not in that order. The heartstrings are frayed right now.
Really happy for what's in store. First single is gonna be recored in 11 days so stoked!! Going to bring back music, and meaning to lyrics #TenWays

10 Ways That Printing and Publishing Have Changed
1. Readers are becoming more easily distracted because of online books and e-books.Â
Average distractions while reading online are 23 minutes.Â
2. Print and web work are beginning to resemble each other more.
Carrie Cousins points out the similarities that web and print designers have in terms of software, terms and visual communication.Â
3. Â People are getting their news from more than one source.
Audiences don't just watch the nightly news up read the morning paper anymore but are getting more news than ever before.Â
4. Publishers can be anyone
Self-publishing is incredibly easy because the internet allows for quick and widespread distribution.Â
5. Publishers don't even have to be humans
If publishers connect work to audiences then contemporary publishers can be Netflix with its recommended movies or any other online algorithm.Â
6. Print is now needed to support online book sales
Wired published an article describing the ways in which the physical book store is necessary for online book selling to continue. People still browse and discover books in physical stores.
7. Physical and digital versions of albums and dvds are coming together.Â
To encourage sales of physical dvds and cds, they are now being sold with electronic copies in order to keep some of the customers Apple took away.Â
8. Companies stopping print design to just work on web versions of product
Already, nearly 40% of tablet owners read digital newspapers or magazines, with nearly 10% doing so daily. Newsweek is an example of a formerly print company that switched completely to web.Â
9. Online news sources have to change constantly to remain interesting and relevant.Â
The New York Times Snow Fall article is an example of an online news source becoming interactive and including things other than text and image to tell a story.Â
10. Audiences know about what is in a magazine before it is released.
The Kim Kardashian/Kanye West Vogue cover is only an example of the many controversial or provocative things in contemporary magazines that start discussions all over the internet and outside world before they are even released.Â
Ten Ways That Publishing and Print have Changed
1. Printed matter is nostalgic
A lot of printed matter, for example, album covers, are now considered a vintage pieces. Most album artwork is now viewed via a digital platform.
2. Archiving has gone digital
Many publications have turned to digital platforms for archiving. Printed publications typically don't ware well and by placing them into a digitized archive, pages of magazines, newspapers, etc., can last infinitely longer.
3. Larger capabilitiesÂ
When designing on a digital platform, there are far less restrictions that have to be considered. Without page size or color restrictions, a lot more is possible.
4. Students are being taught via digital means
When I was in High School all classes were taught via tangible textbooks. Nowadays, all students are taught using online textbooks and iPads.
5. Inexpensive reproductionÂ
When one has to update and show their portfolio to a number of people on a constant basis, the choice of how to share this has a simple solution. A website versus a printed book is obviously the easier, more cost effective choice especially because of how accessible and simple something like this is to do now.
6. E-Readers are Convenient
Kindles, Nooks, and iPads have all greatly played a role in the lack of physical book sales. With access to thousands of books at the click of a button many people opt for this choice for its convenience.
7. Print standards have changed
The standards for print design have significantly gone up. If one is going to purchasing something that they may or may not be available online, the quality has to be taken into consideration. Why is this person buying this? What does it mean to them? How can they use this?
8. Global access
It's obvious that with the introduction of technology more people, on a global scale can access more material. Easy ways of translating and sharing make it easier for all to access anywhere.
9. Print = Digital
Most of what we see nowadays in printed form can also be found on the internet. Whether it's photographed or scanned, a simple google search can usually get you to the same digitized material.
10. Some designers embrace digital
My list has named a number of ways digital has overshadowed print. For many designers, they have embraced the use of technology and used it in their favor. At the magazine I work at, we obviously continue to care about the printed page, but realize that the digital edition of the magazine allows one to do much more with a page. Integration of video, shoppable links, etc., can't compare what we're able to do in the printed magazine.Â
