What can I say, what a blessed day on the water with my hero and father Don Cosner! Made my way up to Quitman Texas to the #hydrodynamics shop where Mr.Steve so kindly installed a spankin' new #RapidJack manual Jack-plate. The beauty of Rapid Jack is with just a 1 and 1/8in wrench you can adjust the motor height in a matter of seconds! And it totally looks awesome! After that me and pops hit #LakeFork for a little evening bite. I got two bites and landed both of them. The first 6lb fish came off a #pepperscustombaits Penetr8tor #shakeyhead with an @xzonelures Muscle Back Fat Finesse Worm in watermelon seed with a chartreuse tail. In the same pocket we found some deeper grass and I decided to pick up my 1/2oz #PepperProSwimJig in bluegill type skirt with a nickel Willow blade and started snapping it out of the grass and WHAMO! I knew it was a #lakeforkstud! She jumped, well, I called it the "Slaunch-Walk" where you see nothing but MOUTH! I yelled out "It's a #tenpounder!" Having caught 4 fish over the ten pound mark I knew that mouth open slaunch stroll all to well. My dad goes down and lips her. No doubt this fish would have been all of ten during the spawn, but this poor beat up girl looks like she had been rolled out by a rolling pin. Still went a slid 8.5lbs. #philipians413 #letsgettoit #morebass in the morning I hope! #stayhungry #stayfocussed #letsgogetem #tomorrowmorning (at Lake Fork, TX)
Tenpounder (Elops sp.) Chek Jawa, 7th May 2016
This Tenpounder was one of many fishes found entangled in an illegal driftnet that had been laid across the lagoon at Chek Jawa. These photos were taken in the midst of clearing the net and removing all the fishes (both alive and dead) and other marine creatures trapped in it.
Two species of Tenpounder are believed to be present in Southeast Asian waters:
