Care (Tenna x you)
I've been bedridden so here have some thoughts about how Tenna would comfort you if you were sick and vice versa. It was kinda fun thinking of ways a CRT could be under the weather. For my emetophobes out there, there is a very brief mention of you puking but no details at all I would never do you dirty (if you wanna avoid it, it's bullet point 3). Also the last bullet point is mildly suggestive.
When you're sick…
😷 Tenna is extremely attentive to your needs and babies you. He makes a surprisingly good nurse since it brings out his nurturing side, but a lot of his information about Lightners is skewed by hospital dramas and those terrible "doctor" advice programs. He has unrealistic expectations on how long illnesses can last since they're usually resolved in one episode.
😷 The man uses his entire staff as his personal door dash because he refuses to leave your side. If he finds out about a remedy that could help your sickness, he's making the Mikes search the entire city for the ingredients, even if it's the middle of the night. You really gotta talk to him about being a better boss…
😷 Since he's a machine, gross human stuff doesn't give him the ick at all. Your body fluids are so removed from what he experiences that there's no repulsion. He holds your hair and rubs your back when you puke, completely unfazed. You feel embarrassed that he's seeing you at your most vulnerable and least desirable, but he doesn't care. He wants to help ease your discomfort in any way he can.
😷 Tenna massages the muscles that hurt, brushes your hair, and puts cold towels on your forehead when you have a fever. He keeps track of when you've taken your medicine and makes you all sorts of comfort foods. He lets in fresh air during the day and places flowers near the bed (fetched by the Mikes of course).
😷 When he's certain you're asleep, he holds your small body and cries. Lightners feel so fragile, so easily harmed. He worries about you incessantly though he doesn't want to show it. He needs you to recover soon because he loves you so dearly and seeing you in this dimmed, pained state breaks his heart.
When Tenna's sick…
🧰 He is a complete incorrigible baby. Tenna insists on pushing through whatever pain he's in, saying the show must go on. But his pain tolerance is abysmally low so anyone who knows him can easily see he's not feeling well. He also will collapse dramatically on the sofa and complain during breaks. When Battat Mike tries to troubleshoot or suggests he go see a mechanic, Tenna refuses and becomes more whiny. This irritates Mike to no end.
🧰 Tenna's illnesses are usually the result of one of his components going bad. One time, he lost his voice which thrilled some of his employees. Another time, his screen was all blurry and he complained of headaches. There was also the incident where Tenna was in denial about being the cause of a burning smell around the studio. His unwillingness to get checked out led to a hospital stay. Thankfully, he's been a lot less reckless with his health since you've been in his life.
🧰 Sometimes him being sick can be similar to Lightner symptoms, like overheating or his antenna balls getting a little wet like a runny nose. As he tends to shrink when he's under the weather, it makes it easier for you to care for him. Though he's a bad patient with others, he thoroughly enjoys getting your attention and being babied. He's an angel of a patient with you, obediently taking your suggestions even if it's something he doesn't want to do like going to the mechanic. This also irritates Mike to no end.
🧰 At first, you thought his unwillingness to get treatment was something more vain. You know he doesn't like the implication that he's old technology. But as you learn more about him, you find out he's genuinely terrified of being worked on. He almost died and the recovery from that incident was very traumatic. Certain tools or sensations in his body can bring him back to that time.
🧰 You soothe him when he's at the mechanic, telling him he's safe and this is all just temporary. It's hard for him to not become minuscule when he's afraid, and this makes working on him more complicated. You do what you can to help ground him and give Tenna antenna massages to help him relax. You try learning about his anatomy from the mechanic so you're able to fix minor issues yourself from the comfort of home.
🧰 Tenna is extremely squeamish to robotic gore, which can be hard for you to navigate as you don't see machines in the same way. Once, you had your old CRT opened up on the floor when he came over. The sight of a fellow CRT with its insides exposed caused him to pass out. He seems especially sensitive to seeing exposed cathodes and anodes. You guess it's the same as you seeing brains.
🧰 Despite his aversion to most of his guts, you've found that his wires are in a VERY different category. He's able to feel his wires in an erogenous way and has more control over them, so they don't feel as organ-like as the rest of his insides. It took Tenna a while to admit this to you, as he finds wireplay a bit embarrassing. That being said, you use your knowledge about his wires to your benefit. Frequently.
