His life would probably be easier if he didn’t insist on keeping his appearance so attractive.Phobias: Being a disappointmentWhat They Would Be Famous For: For a certain race of people, their souls are unable to naturally cross over to the afterlife, so Zandel has to go out and collect them. Basically that is why he is known as “the Vulture” and he is known among them as being an omen of death of sorts. What They Would Get Arrested For: It wouldn’t happen a lot, but every so often I could see Zandel going a little off his rocker... especially if he had too much to drink. So being drunk and disorderly could be a reason. Good thing he wouldn’t have much of an issue escaping...OC You Ship Them With: RayenOC Most Likely To Murder Them: Izabella. They ended up on... pretty bad terms.Favorite Movie/Book Genre: I think Zandel enjoyed just about everything... but has a soft spot for a lot of classical literature. He probably remembers it with a lot of nostalgia attached.Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Whenever the parents in a story are always seen as right or knowing bestTalents and/or Powers: Zandel, like Rayen, is a powerful mage and has had his entire immortal lifetime to to get stronger and better. Like Rayen he can also shapeshift, though he focuses more on his duties to the gods than he does using his time to learn extraneous skills. Unlike Rayen, he has the Gods’ blessings, and through special rituals he can gain the power to do some truly amazing thing, but at the expense of exhausting himself. Examples of that are things like opening portals to other parts of the universe at will, as well as hopping across different dimensions. Why Someone Might Love Them: Zandel is extremely loyal and dutiful. If he is close to you, you likely have a trusted friend for life. He protects those he loves without hesitation and will never leave the side of someone who needs him. He keeps a clam and patient exterior, even if that is not at all representative of what he’s really feeling. He’s also quite tolerant, and will accept people who have differing opinions from his own... as long as its not against one of his fundamental beliefs. Why Someone Might Hate Them: The way Zandel shows his affection is very minimal. More often than not, he simply doesn’t, and he can come off as stoic and cold. Getting through that exterior can be a chore and not deemed to be worthwhile. Also his duty to the Gods always takes precedence over anything else, so he can be gone for long periods of time. Often he loses track of how much time has passed, since the way he feels it is very different to someone who is mortal, so it may be many months or even years before he sees someone again. Sometimes he will sacrifice the needs of others for the needs of what he thinks is the “greater good” if he feels that is the best or only way to achieve something. He puts his duty even before himself, so he often neglects taking care of himself and can be a bit self-destructive. How They Change: Zandel started off as your usual rambunctious teenager, but quickly was thrown a curve ball when he learned he was the reincarnation of a powerful mage that came before him. It took him a long time to accept that duality and also the fact that he was immortal... so he had a long time to come to terms with it. Eventually, he worked out what he wanted to do with his endless life, and it was to clean up all of the terrible things that the Ethinians had inflicted on their universe, and he decided the best way to do that was to devote himself to his Gods. Zandel has worked diligently to keep himself stable, meditating and training himself so that he doesn’t slip into madness induced by a chronic magic illness that he inherited from his previous incarnation, and has become something of a deity himself. Why You Love Them: I created Zandel back in high school, so I was still doing a lot of maturing back then, just as he was... and I feel like he’s grown up with me a lot, so I feel pretty close to him in a lot of ways. I think he’s emotionally pretty complex and has a lot of things I can relate to.
