im rereading the shades of magic series rn and while I have absolutely zero reason to relate to any of these characters, any time any of them speak I’m like, [through tears] man same

oh love, please don’t feel like you sounded wrong or came across in a wrong way. tumblr sometimes makes us afraid to express our opinions because if you don’t get it spot on your are a bad person which used to scare me because english isn’t my native language. you didn’t call anybody names or attacked me or crossed any personal borders. and i think it’s healthy and important to communicate and voice opinions especially when they differ and just have a conversation. it’s good for getting out of your personal perspective and maybe gaining a new point of view. so for my part i really enjoy conversations and i don’t mind it when people feel differently about things and communicate that. you weren’t hostile you were firm and you made me try to express myself better and think about my opinions and that’s always a good thing

and i felt like i came off as very ignorant and a killjoy so i thought your reaction was very legitimate. so we are still sitting in the same boat and you really don’t have to worry about it! you just told me your opinion and there was nothing wrong with it

i do think that those are very important topics to be discussed and depicted in the media and i hope i didn’t come across as not caring about it or thinking they aren’t important. but speaking about teen dramas, those topics were always central to plot lines in recent years. of course not all of it at once or on all tv shows but they were integral parts of the genre. so what astounds me is not that it relates to people or people feel that it’s important to tackle e.g. and mental illness with teens but that people treat skam (at least some on my dash) like it invented the wheel. i can’t say anything about how well written those issues and story lines are and i couldn’t possibly comment on it without having seen a single episode. so that’s where my verdict that i am probably just too old and gotten grumpy comes from. (i mean i saw dawson’s creek when it was still a weekly tv thing) 

but i agree about lyra and will, it was a great addition!

You described it so well ; it’s important to keep the sea part because often people focus on the sun -but it’s the sea that killed him, not the sun. I’m so sad for Daedalus, seriously.
