So, this was definitely inspired by @quilna's fic Lying is a Love Language. However, instead Jekyll and Hyde are suffering from this (different) love curse. I came up with this ages ago, but I don't think I have time (or the skill) to write it. So, I'm going to list out the general premise in bullet points here instead. (Warning for mentions of strangulation and chronic pain.)

Simon Stride inflicts a love curse onto Jekyll where, if he touches the person he loves (romantically) or confesses his love for them, they die

The curse leaves markings on Jekyll's arms, legs, and neck, though I don't really have a concrete idea of what they look like

After getting the curse, Jekyll refuses to touch Lanyon, claiming that his anxiety can't handle it

The curse leaves Jekyll in a state of constant pain

The farther away from Lanyon he is the more pain he's in, and the pain decreases the closer he is to Lanyon

Touching other people, even just brushing against someone, causes him immense pain

Jekyll avoids touching people, which has led to the Lodgers believing that he's disgusted by the "mere common folk"

Most people end up succumbing to the curse's effects and killing their loved ones within two weeks or less, but Jekyll has endured it for three years before this fic's storyline takes place

Hyde doesn't believe he's in love with anybody, so he doesn't bother hiding the curse's markings unlike Jekyll

Hyde still sleeps around and "gets used" to the pain

If anyone asked them if they loved anybody, the curse markings will burn them until they confess that they do (which results in them trying to avoid the conversation of love all together)

When Hyde and Lanyon meet at the Black Bazaar, Hyde is forced to explain that one of Lanyon's exes cursed him, but he leaves out the whole love detail, leading Lanyon to believe that the curse was specifically modified to affect him

Lanyon, feeling guilty about Hyde being in constant pain because of them dating in the past, especially when he doesn't even remember Hyde, tries to help him find a cure

Eventually, the curse tries to force Hyde to admit his feelings for Lanyon, which leads to Hyde quickly running away from him and locking himself somewhere private

To prevent the killing words from leaving his mouth, Hyde ties his belt around his neck and chokes himself until the curse calms itself (the curse would never let them die as that would be an easy out)

Once Jekyll is back in control, he goes to check up on Frankenstein, interrupting another session of storytime for the Lodgers

When he tries to shoo them out, he finds that his vocal chords don't work

The Lodgers quickly get worried about this, and one of the actually medically-trained Lodgers examines Jekyll and sees the bruises on his neck

Maijabi sees the markings on Jekyll's neck and explains the curse to everyone (I headcanon that he knows a lot about curses because of Quilna's aforementioned fic)

Lanyon, who's trying to find Hyde after he ran off, steps into the attic

When he notices the bruises on Jekyll's neck, he tries to come closer

Seeing Jekyll's reaction to Lanyon almost touching him, the Lodgers quickly step between them

For the rest of the fic, the Lodgers are trying to keep Lanyon away from Jekyll, which makes him believe that they're doing something bad to Jekyll

Hyde eventually comes back, even though he really really shouldn't

In a series of fanfics for the comic The Glass Scientists, Edward Hyde has gotten himself stabbed, and, unfortunately for him, this means that he has to figure out how to survive without transforming into Jekyll until his wound heals. And Lanyon, the unfortunate aristocrat, must endure Hyde's antics as he tries to find his best friend Henry Jekyll. [Also being posted on Tumblr.]

I'm bored, so I'm just posting random shit. This is from my semi-abandoned fanfic Swaying on These Stubborn Legs, a sequel to my coping fic Heart-Stopping Fear of Sleep. Based off of how I was unable to stand due to a ✨unknown health condition✨, Jekyll finds himself trying to work despite his body very much telling him that's a bad idea. This fic was abandoned because my health condition improved enough to where I didn't need to write this as a distraction. Still exists, though. (Typos and shit are likely in this fic because of the whole suffering-while-writing thing.)

Sorry for the weird-ass formatting (and some repeating parts). I'm way too lazy to type this all out. Jekyll's delirium here is very much based off of my own (honestly, I think I was delirious when I wrote this). Most of the typos are on purpose. Delirious people don't really care much for grammar, I've found. Some typos are not. Also, fun fact: Jekyll collapsing on the counter is based on when my mom told me I should lie down and my body, realizing that was an option, decided to fully give up on me (I seriously thought that standing would help me push past the pain).

Anyhow, I hope you'll enjoy this chapter! I keep switching between liking and hating it, but, considering how it's 11,457 words and the longest chapter I've ever written, I'm not changing it. Hopefully, it'll still be a fun read, and I promise that a lot of fun stuff is going to happen in the next chapter!

I started writing my second TGS fic for Uncaged Together, and, as I was writing, my word suggestion said this! Made me laugh in surprise! I was not expecting that whatsoever. Though, with the context of the sentence I was writing, it does fit. (Also, please ignore the typo up there. It's been fixed now.)

Edit: It's not suggesting it to me anymore. I think it's trying to gaslight me into believing I imagined it.

Okay, so I'm writing a fic for Hyde and Jekyll, and I got to this part where Hyde gives a bunch of money to a stranger for information, much to Jekyll's dismay. However, I'm struggling with a dialogue tag. Hyde's saying this to get Jekyll off his back and to redirect his attention back to what Hyde wants to do. I'm sure that there's a dialogue tag that describes this, but I just can't think of it and my Google searches have proved fruitless. So if anyone happens to know, please let me know because it is bothering me to no end.

With my TGS fanfic, I've been trying my best to stick to British English because it bothers me to use American English when I'm writing a story with a British setting. But, yesterday, my older sibling told me that they thought that British writers used apostrophes instead of quotation marks for dialogue. So, today, I did a bit Googling and found out that what I consider to be a quotation mark (") is considered a double quotation mark and an apostrophe can be considered a single quotation mark. (I think this applies to British English specifically because last year I was told to use double quotation marks for my research paper, and I already had " and had to change those to "".)
