Ron Livingston said Lewis kinda rebuffed Ambrose when Ambrose was writing the book. Lewis said “call Dick”. So it might be better ( I’m paraphrasing it) that he didn’t get to meet Lewis because he didn’t know if Lewis would like the show but he tried his best. Erik Jendresen said Grace once said it’s ( the show) like Lewis was back.

Neal McDonough crashed at a friend’s apartment when doing the audition for BoB in LA. He later found out Buck Compton’s childhood home was just across from that apartment. TW* so Neal once stared into the kitchen where Buck’s dad committed suicide, and that’s why Buck went to UCLA, stayed with his mom and didn’t travel around the states playing games. Buck was very stoic and didn’t really let down his guard. Neal once called him in the mid of the night and asked how he carried his Thompson. Buck asked why he needed to know. He also said Buck was emotional underneath and he told Neal how it was to watch his friends die. Neal visited Buck once in Washington and they had breakfast.
