“Can I at least take a smoke break?” Tony hummed after a while of silence. He’d agreed to at least sit still while Rose drew him this time, but he was finding it relatively difficult. “Or is this like, one of those old school portrait things where I have to be deadass still until you’re done?”

“Hey,” For once, his voice was quiet. Typically around the female he exuded confidence and a domineering attitude. But even Tony knew it wasn’t the time to lash out. There was an air around the entire campus that felt heavy, as if no one really knew what to do just yet. Would there be a riot? An uprising? Part of him was just waiting to see who would be gunned down–but he suppressed that excitement for the time being. “Pretty bullshit if you ask me,” he hummed, moving closer to her carefully. “It’s one thing to murder and torture people, it’s different when you’re lying about some science shit to do it. That’s just fucking cowardly.”

she isn’t really sure what she should be doing. there wasn’t anything to do in the hospital and she was b o r e d but also in TOO MUCH pain to do anything apart from laying down. and it wasn’t like she could sleep, that would be the last thing she ever wanted to do. she’d be forever plagued by those thoughts. she had a better understanding of humans, but that wasn’t a good thing. “ rose, “ she says once she sees her little sister in the doorway. she never meant to worry her family. she hadn’t ran away, she hadn’t run away in years. but she knew what people were probably going to think; she got herself kidnapped. He’s trying his best to disguise himself as his brother, just to see how she’ll react. “Hey, come to sit on my lap?” he teases, brows raised as he sips from his coffee. 

“Don’t you dare tell Zach about this, got it?” Tony’s voice was firm, cold. How he’d managed to even hold himself together was a miracle. There were a million thoughts racing through his head, but he hadn’t close off the line of communication just yet. Their little group had yet to disband, as far as he was concerned. “You’re gonna stand out there and get that old fucking creep back under this overpass, alright? And then you’re gonna step back and let me do my job. I don’t want you fucking this up again.” 

“–So, I’m getting married.” There’s a grin on his face but he’s still worried. He knows she knows. It’s been all over his social media, and he’s been hanging on Lars since the moment they arrived back at Paragon. Since then, he’s only seen her a handful of times and it’s not been anything serious. He extends her hand to show her the ring, as if it’ll be more concrete once he does.
