oh fran, it is genuinely soooo mindblogging. that recent post was targeted at the 911 fandom, but it absolutely applies to the pitt fandomās reception & a lot of the opinions and conversations surrounding frank as well D:
people think theyāre so mighty when they say well iād never be an addict!! that would NEVER happen to me!!! but the thing is, addiction can happen to anyone. and there are so many misconceptions surrounding addiction when it would be so, so easy to take a second to google and educate yourself! and it gets to a point where itās like. Yes this is fictional. Yes this is a show. Yes this is a fictional character. But!! the language used? the accusatory words? the way people speak about addicts as subhuman? the ways people engage with these kinds of storylines? is seen and read by people !!! REAL LIFE PEOPLE whose lives might have been touched by addiction in some manner, whether personal or otherwise. which also feeds into the way people in the pitt fandom are so quick to wish death on robby and talk so poorly about his mental health. yeah okay itās fictional but people see and will remember this stuff. people can and will internalize it. and all of this serves as more reasoning as to why people who suffer from addiction and other mental health problems struggle with getting help! because itās so stigmatized and how can you feel safe enough to admit to needing help/having a problem when the reception to fictional storylines is often like this? sorry iām rambling iāll shut up but god!!! it infuriates me!!!!

yes :( it was announced very oddly so everyone is having Quite polarizing reactions iām not sure how much to say but !! from my understanding vanity announced samira wonāt be in s3 because of story directionā¦? and ayesha harris (dr. ellis) is moving up as a series regular. it doesnāt seem like it was supriya choosing to leave so much as them doing. something.. we havenāt gotten much detailāim assumingābecause that would spoil the rest of s2 but D: i know theyāve discussed the fact that with a show like this people will be moving in and out because thatās how things work but it Is unexpected at least at this point in time considering that s3 isnāt meant to be that big of a time jump, samiraās arc this season has felt very clunky, and i dunno! just. a lot going on :(
