Teething update: 19 teeth done. Tooth #20 in position, with just one tiny sharp corner that can be felt through the gum. This is the home stretch. One last fucker of a molar and Virgil will be done getting his baby teeth.

This is probably only the sleep deprivation talking, but this has been the strangest week.
Tiny guy was up for two+ hours SCREAMING again last night (leap 9, tooth 16, nighttime cough, demons, it just be like that... take your pick) - but I feel okay because I went to bed at 8, so I had 4 hours sleep before it all started, instead of the usual 0.
I still shushed Virgil this morning because I was afraid he was going to wake Virgil up though, so obviously I'm not firing at 100% after only one night of more than zero sleep.

Today was truly a day and a half. ~trigger warning: teething hell~
Virgil was up from midnight until 2am for two nights in a row now. Armand woke us all up with a bad coughing fit at 6am. I caught a look at Virgil’s lower molar that was swollen up badly last week and it’s worse. So much worse. It’s like two fleshy flaps that push up impossibly high above the rest of his gums, higher than his tongue sits, and it’s like he fucking chews on it or something, the way his mouth goes. No fucking wonder his sleep is worse then it was this time last year when he was only a month old. :| These teeth need to hurry the fuck up.
Google assures me that it’s normal. One person talked about their dentist cutting the flaps off for them, but more people talked about them just falling off on their own when the molar came in. I never saw this with molar #1 or with any of Armand’s 8 molars, but there you go, every single child is a bit different and you just need to keep learning. It’d be easier if we weren’t so damned sleep deprived though. I’m on edge with stress hormones from when I was playing it cool but hadn’t consulted google yet and part of my brain was pretty sure that he was probably dying because what the serious fuck.

Virgil’s been sleeping kinda shitty for awhile now (weeks? months? ~4 wake ups a night?) but he’s been up every hour for the last two nights and tonight I noticed that his first molar has started to break through the gums (the outside ridge, but lots left to go) and I was optimistic that maybe breaking through a little would provide relief, but I’m now worried that tonight will be the fucking worst. He’s woken up 3 times in the last 90 minutes. :|
I’d been watching Virgil’s top lateral incisors (one is soooo close to erupting) but it looks like one of the bottom ones must have erupted a couple days ago and the other bottom one is just erupting now (a tiny corner is through). Arriving slightly out of order caught me totally off guard. Oh well! 6 in and 14 to go.
