Ok a little OTT but it does raise an interesting point. This is what they have said

“Any infringement of the principles of fairness in competition, behaviour in an unsportsmanlike manner or attempt to influence the results of a competition, in a way that is contrary to sporting ethics”

So my understanding of that is every time Valtteri or Sergio slowed down to let Lewis or Max ahead of them surely is a breach of that rule. Alonso holding the field up last year to allow Ocon to catch up and overtake competitors, is a breach of that rule. Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull every time they have done the let your teammate overtake you and if he can’t catch the one in front we’ll swap back, they have broken that rule. On each occasion they have influenced the result of the race or attempted to.

So why has that rule never been rolled out before today?

Whether McLaren appeals this or not, or threatens legal action (😈 do it for the shits and giggles Lando), this has to be a question the drivers put to the FIA. Where did you pull that from? As clearly a blind eye has been turned for the last 70 years.

In a funny/sad way almost all of Red Bulls PR ‘driver pairing’ content this year has had Daniel appear alongside Max and Checo. Which makes me 100% believe that either or both camps (logically Max) refuse to work together without a ‘buffer’ to drive the content to be positive/fun. Enter Daniel!

While you can’t deny the content has been top tier. You can clearly see even in edits that the ‘pairing’ of Max and Daniel shines through and casts a shadow over the actual driver lineup. Even making it look ‘third wheel’ like on Checo’s part. Showing how much value Daniel has towards the teams brand outside of ‘physically driving’.
