So, I did a bit of detective work for my character information gifset featuring Tector, because I couldn’t remember if they ever reveal where he’s from. I mean, obviously it’s Southern United States, but I wanted something more specific, if possible. That’s when I remembered him talking about the stuff he missed from before the invasion, and that he described one of his neighbors watching Rangers games next door. Now, apparently there’s more than one team named "Rangers”, but he also talked about the crack of the bat and other things obviously related to baseball. According to Google, the baseball team Rangers plays for Arlington, Texas. This leads to the very plausible conclusion that Tector is from Texas - perhaps even Arlington/the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
