Now idk if that’s based on something she’s actually said but I don’t think I’ve seen any clips/posts backing it up so it just seems like people are assuming this because of her age.

Not everyone strives to get married and settle down. Who knows if marriage is even a thought in shubble’s mind. People don’t tend to assume men her age wanna settle down so why assume it for women.

A lot of the reasons people think wubble won’t work out is based on their own assumptions of what shubble/wilbur want and then is treated as some kind of confirmed fact. Obviously you can try look at their past actions/feelings and extrapolate but you’re still guessing at the end of the day

I know she's said she's a romantic so I won't say she "doesn't seem like the type" for getting married, but I did have the sense that she believes in way more flexibility than that. When I say settling down I mostly mean living a life with regular predictable contact with someone, usually in the same space, with the expectation that the contact will continue, because I’m a robot from the moon /j.

I know a big problem with how this gets talked about is perspective. It’s hard to fully step away from the idea of 30 being an age where you’re locked into a culturally scripted lifepath from both teens and adults depending on the culture. The teenagers and young adults generally don’t have much contact with non-teacher and non-parent adults (I mean just look at what happened to Phil) and then the ones that they are around might back up the exact script they have in mind. I won’t say that it’s pure -ism because depending on the culture it can be strange to not be on at least your first child by 25, but there are people living wild and free well into their 30s.

The gender thing is also interesting as a kind of double-jointed sexism where women are seen as naturally domestic while men need to be reined in and would never want to settle otherwise. As of now I know of way more men who are miserably single compared to women who have a “focusing on myself and my friends and career” thing going on, so it’s actually the other way around right now. Again, no clue where her priorities land.
