One, because the man seemed like he genuinely needed help and who was Namjoon to say no? He knows the land well and knew he could find the herbs quickly. Two, he wants the Dark Mage to have a positive outlook on him and therefor a positive outlook on the Princess. It’s politics, yes, but Namjoon also just likes to be helpful.

Hoseok rolls his eyes and kneels down before Namjoon, quickly untying the laces of his shoes as the taller man huffs. Namjoon had always treated _____ like she’s glass (well, most of the time), and in turn, Hoseok does the same to him. Maybe it’s payback in some twisted way.

“Hobi it’s fine! You saw it; it’s just a shallow little thing. I can get my own shoes off.” There’s a mumble of ‘hush’ before Namjoon’s shoes are being taken off, and he can’t do much else but comply with the other man. Hoseok stands up quickly, nose almost bumping with the younger man’s as his eyes slide into slits.

“Sure, but what if it wasn’t? What if you got heavily injured or-“ He shakes his head and takes a deep breath, grabbing Joon’s hand and tugging him toward the bedroom. Slamming the door open, he leads his friend over to the bed and starts to pull all the covers back before pausing.

“… I just want you to be safe. I know you’re an excellent magic user but I still worry. You’re also a giant klutz and and tend to space out, not a great combo Joonie.” Without another word, Hoseok reaches for Namjoon’s shirt and starts to unbutton it again for the second time that day. The statement nearly makes the taller pout, trying his best to defend himself as his button-up is slipped off his body.

“That-! That is true I won’t deny it. But seriously Hoseok, I’m fine now and I won’t be going out that far by myself again.” The Strategist stares back with a raised brow, clearly not believing a word of it. He shouldn’t, but Namjoon can always hope. Hobi gestures for him to take his pants off, and he does, left in nothing but his briefs and slightly bruised ego.

The other man turns and heads for the Advisors wardrobe, already knowing where to go after staying over at least once a week. He rummages through the second to last drawer, pulling out a pair of silky blue sleep pants. They’re thrown Namjoon’s way, and he catches them quickly and puts them on without a word.

“What you will be doing is laying down in your bed. Get in.” It’s Namjoon’s turn to take a stand, and so he does. He’s not sure how intimidating he looks while being nearly naked with crossed arms, but he hopes it’ll work. He doesn’t miss the way Hobi’s mouth twitches.

“Lay with me and I will.” With a huff, Hoseok starts stripping his clothes off quickly, grabbing a pair of pajama bottoms for himself. If Namjoons staring (he certainly is) Hoseok doesn’t say anything, making his way over to the bed and plopping down into it.

“Well? Lay your ass down. If you don’t get at least a few hours of sleep in I won’t be very happy and the Princess might just execute me.” Namjoon slips into bed, very pleased with himself at Hoseok’s compliance. He won’t say a word about it though, not wanting to test the man anymore. With a snap of his fingers, the lights go out, the only source now being the rays that steak in through the curtains.

“… I’m sorry Hobi. Thank you for taking care of me.” He turns to his side, facing away from the other man as doubt washes over him. He didn’t mean to make anyone worry, and that thought quickly runs wild. It doesn’t last for very long when he hears rustling, and then Hoseok is right behind him, wrapping himself around the larger man.

Joon can feel the man’s breath against the back of his neck, the warmth of his body against his own. It’s comforting, warm and safe and sound, right where he wants to be. There’s a small hum before Hobi’s voice lulls Namjoon’s eyes closed, the softest it’s been all night.
