Rowan has LONGG, neatly styled brown hair--he doesn’t cut it often, but keeps it healthy and well-maintained. A single braid sits on one side of his face--a tradition of mourning. Three large scars trace down his neck and chin from more… violent encounter with a dragon.

Outfits || He usually wears some kind of suit--typically opting for a nice waistcoat and tie without a jacket, rather than something like a tux. He always wears a necklace with a red feather on it, the talisman of his god, a symbol of his faith. He wears a bracelet of dragon scales on his wrist, which are the source of his magic, though they needed to be changed out with fresh ones every few weeks.

Rowan is very calm, respectful, and thoughtful, and takes time to make decisions. He's an old soul (literally), and doesn't really like interacting with people. He prefers to just chill in his library with his books and his dragons. He will not hesitate to make his opinions known if he disagrees with someone, and is prone to info dumping in order to prove a point. He tends to be a bit stubborn about his beliefs.

Rowan has always been fascinated by magic, but horrified by how people go about it. He is very against the killing of dragons, especially for selfish gains.

After his closest friend disappeared off the face of the earth, Rowan ran away from home in search of other ways to learn magic. There had to be something. During his travels, he saved a baby dragon from a hunter. Dragons are sacred animals to the gods, and the goddess of life, Phoenix, took a liking to him after this act, and showed him how to do magic without having to harm the creatures (dragons shed their scales when they feel safe or happy, which can then be used as power for magic). Eventually, he formed a sort of friendship with the queen of the gods.

Rowan was blessed with immortality through this friendship, the ability to go on and study magic for the rest of eternity. After this, he dedicated his life to this field of study, and lives in a small lighthouse on the edge of Venari-Phene where he collects ancient texts and heals any injured dragons he comes across (often, if hunters aren't able to kill a dragon immediately, they just let it fly off wounded and move on).

I don't have any proper explanation for this - I was scrolling through Disney Wiki looking for reference images for a Thing and then my brain had a "What if..." moment, and I decided to go along with it, because why not.
