Explaining your relationship with your father, some characteristics you have because of him (for better or for worse), and whether you treat your teams differently or the same, and more!
All of the readers were adopted at a young age and are all competitive (because it's soccer) to some degree; however, how competitive varies. Also, keep in mind I am in S6 currently.
Assistant Coach Au Masterlist
Your relationship with Coach is good! While no father-child relationship is 100% perfect, itâs safe to say that you and Coach make a pretty good duo. The trust between you two is strong, and even when thereâs conflict, you both do a pretty good job of communicating with each other. However, you recognize your fatherâs tendency to be a tad bit too serious and arenât above helping the team escape his shenanigans when you feel heâs going a bit too far. Even when you disagree or donât see eye-to-eye, everyone can tell that you both care for each other no matter what.
Coach has left pretty big shoes for you to fill, which can sometimes cause you to be a little insecure and doubt yourself. However, it also gives you the motivation to push yourself and learn from your failures to push on. You feel a big sense of responsibility to prove yourself, and because of that, you tend to blame yourself when the team fails, especially if you insisted on taking charge of their strategy. Still, you never give up and promise to always get better. While you donât like to admit that youâre incredibly competitive, you canât help but shoot a smug look at the opposing coach when youâre team comes out on top.Â
Sometimes, the guys canât tell how youâre related to Coach, but then there are days when it makes sense to them. Either way, youâre still an essential part of the team in their eyes, and theyâll make sure you donât forget it. While your father disapproves of it a little, they love to have you tag along in their whacky shenanigans, and invite you to team bonding events. They recognize that you do your best, and while they love to tease and rag on you, they do hold you in high respect. They also have a tendency to hide behind you to avoid Coachâs wrath after a bad game.
Your relationship with Vince is complicated; your whole adoption was probably a part of some scheme to endear him to the public, but itâs not fair to say that there is no familial bond there. While he is ruthless, Vince saw a lot of potential in you from a young age, and canât help but feel a little bit of pride when you exhibit that same ruthlessness and cruelty. Meanwhile, you understood that every win for Vince meant that it was a win for you as well. However, you feel as though it would be better for him to invest in actually training his team rather than his elaborate cheating ideas, and urge him to actually come up with legit strategies. Itâs not uncommon to hear muffled arguing behind his office door before you angrily push open the door to his office and storm off while he rubs his temples and takes out his headache medication.
You wouldnât describe yourself as âruthless,â but letâs just say that youâre willing to do what needs to be done in order to guarantee the success of your team, even if it means going along with Vinceâs actions in some cases. For the most part, however, youâre different from him in the sense that you disagree with Invincible Unitedâs strategy of immediately resorting to cheating. You have a better sense of sportsmanship than your father and team and will apologize on their behalf (since they obviously wonât) and canât help but be amused as your father throws his mantrum over another failed plot. Your brain is constantly making new strategies as you observe each match, and you write down ideas for game plays you think might help Invincible United win without sabotaging the other team. These ideas often go ignored by Vince as he plans his next ridiculous plot.
Itâs not uncommon for you to argue with your team as well, chastising them about being the worst PR nightmares in history, and constantly having to clean up their messes with the general public. While you arenât as scary as Vince in their eyes, they do still treat you with respect because they know that disrespecting you means disrespecting Vince himself. They enjoy teasing you, but itâs different because they do find you endearing, and mean it in a friendly (sometimes flirty) way. When it comes to preferences, they favor you over your father because you largely place the blame on your father rather than on them. You also secretly believe that they really shouldnât cheat because theyâre all very talented already, but you never tell them that for fear that itâd worsen the teasing.Â
Your relationship with Coach Von Push Up is complicated, however, not as bad compared to Vince and his adopted child. Your adopted father has a reputation for being strict and fierce with everyone he meets, which extends to how he has raised you. However, you know that every time heâs being hard on you that it's only because he cares, but there are times when that reason is not justified. While he may have been strict, he also wanted you to be able to have a backbone so you could stand up to anyone, including him. Hence why he exhibits visible pride when you argue against him or other members of the team.
You share your fatherâs fierceness, maybe not in the same way as he does, but you also have a fire in your eyes to win. You are much more approachable from the outsiderâs perspective, as well as polite and respectful. While you arenât as harsh with your team, you disapprove of when Iron Tank resorts to underhanded tricks, and will hold them all accountable. You will be a little athletic, maybe not to the degree that the rest of your team is, but basic things such as a nice jog or walk around the snowy landscape of the Iron Tank fortress. However, when pushed to your limits, your anger and wrath can be more terrifying than your fatherâs.
Realistically, you might be on the small side by the standards of the Iron Tank team, and they will tease you. However, they will defend your honor if someone dares to speak badly about you behind your back. Generally speaking, they all genuinely like you and enjoy interacting with you as youâre much more easygoing than your father. Itâs not uncommon for you to be carrying on a casual conversation with them as you sit on a tire that theyâre pulling for resistance training. They also know better than to test your patience because then that can get scary for everyone, your father included.
Your relationship with Coach Belmont would be good. I feel like heâd be a good dad (I see him as having big girl dad energy). While he is seen as mysterious to most, he is very soft with you behind closed doors, and absolutely adores you. He would never be condescending to you, but he will 100% tell people embarrassing stories about when you were a kid that make you want to melt in embarrassment. Might be one of the only coaches who has an endearing nickname for you like âdearâ, âdarlingâ, or âlittle princess/princeâ, but he also only uses those in private.
While your father embraces his air of mystery, youâre very enthusiastic about it, which makes you stand out but also fit in with the rest of Grimm FC. Youâre not easily scared by things and are drawn to the spooky aesthetic, which confuses other teams about how you can be so happy being a part of the freakiest team in the Super League. Polite and cordial, you are fairly approachable to everyone else, but you are also just as much of a tactician as your father. Unlike the previous readers, you donât necessarily have a problem with cheating just because you look at it from an objective standpoint (and itâs not like anyone else can judge you), but prefer to use it as a last resort. You also have a petty and vengeful side, and can barely hide your frustration at your team losing behind a strained smile.
Everyone on this team would simply adore you, but also be very protective of you. Vlad, specifically, will drag you away when people from other teams try to talk to you because those âmortals are not worth your timeâ. I can honestly see you having the responsibility of doing their makeup before every game. While you might LOOK like youâre the ânormal oneâ, you can be just as mysterious and ominous as the rest of them, which they love about you. Expect them to hiss when someone is yelling at you or some other coach assistant tries to mock you.
Your relationship with Toni would be complicated, honestly. I honestly think he would be quite distant, and the reason why you are his assistant coach is that he needed a lab assistant. Often being put second to his inventions, you have learned to ignore your father the same way he ignores you. Which causes him to be confused as you roll your eyes and half-heartedly help him with his latest scheme, after all, you must know this stuff as well because youâll be following in his footsteps! Toni is oblivious to your feelings, and you have learned a long time ago that communication with him just isnât possible.
Chaotic neutral Gen Z is a characteristic that I can see for you, ignoring your dad and just scrolling through whatever social media app has your fancy. You are also incredibly introverted, feeling awkward and unsure of yourself when the assistant coaches of the other team are socializing, but it can be quite chaotic once you befriend a few of them. You also donât care much for your fatherâs authority and try to find accommodations for your team where they can ACTUALLY practice rather than sit around and wait for your dad to be finished with his newest innovation. Sometimes, you can put your foot down with your dad and lash out at him, causing him to be confused but ultimately step down. You are also the social media coordinator for them, often deciding which highlights get posted, and sometimes making silly memes of your players that go viral.
The team of Technicali shares your frustration with your father. You also act as an advocate for them and will snap at your dad when they are unwilling participants in his games. Ever since you joined the team, they donât even bother going to Toni anymore because they know heâll brush them off. They are your hype men, often admiring your latest posts and being the first ones to like them, and backing you up when you snap at your dad. Overall, they enjoy how you see them as people and not lab rats for whatever experiment Vern decides to subject them to.
I honestly think that Del Aqua would be a good dad. He would also be like Belmont in the sense that he definitely calls you endearing nicknames, but these nicknames would obviously have an ocean motif. When he is taking care of the underwater stadium or improving facilities within it, you often take over and oversee Hydraâs training. He has a lot of trust in you and doesnât mind letting you take over as coach for a few days if he needs to. Just expect that your room had LOTS of marine decor growing up.
I can see you inheriting his appreciation for the ocean, spending your days in the stadium observing the marine life around you. I also donât think youâd have as much of a problem with cheating, after all, heâs the one calling the shots. You can be a little spacey at times, but you just really like to take in the beauty of marine life and have the same curiosity and interest as your adopted father. However, you can also be a bit shady like the rest of your team, but you are ultimately a chill person to hang out with. When your team loses, youâre bummed but donât let it stop you as you go back to the drawing board.
Another team that likes to tease you as a form of affection. However, they also really enjoy being around you both on and off the field. Some of them might try to impress you (platonic or romantic) during training sessions and will give their teammates a smug smirk when you praise them. Itâs a bit of friendly competition within the league. They also really like hearing your info-dump about cool facts you learned, either about the ocean or not doesnât really matter, and use it as background noise for training sometimes. They would 100% peer-pressure you into doing stupid stuff, which leads to them apologizing to you if you get injured and a lengthy lecture from their coach.
Your relationship with Ura Giri would be complicated. In the past, you used to have a huge amount of trust for your father and greatly admired him. You believed in his teachings about honor and focus, finding them to be incredibly inspiring. When the news came out about how he cheated against the Supa Strikas, you and the rest of Nakama found it hard to trust him again. While Ura Giri mourns the loss of your trust, he also believes that it is the only way to guarantee Nakama's victory and to protect your honor.
I can see you being very honest and truthful, and direct. You donât understand other coaches and their assistants when they try to play friendly with each other, and you can often see through their fake pleasantries. You give your honest opinion about things and do not try to manipulate anyone. While you can forgive, you cannot forget, so you still respect Ura Giri but will not bring yourself to trust him as you once did. You will also directly intervene against your fatherâs attempts at cheating if you absolutely must have to, as you find it more shameful than losing.
Nakama shares your sentiments about Ura Giriâs unfair tactics. When Ura Giri gives them any order that is strange or out of the ordinary, they wait for your judgment to determine whether or not they will comply with it. A lot of them greatly respect you, to the point that if they DO have romantic feelings, they will try to hide them to maintain their focus. While I wouldnât say theyâre incredibly protective, they will look out for you and defend your honor if someone dares to slander your name. Overall, the Nakama boys really appreciate all of your hard work and will back you up to confront Ura Giri and his tactics.
I can see your relationship with Buddy Watkins being complicated. While he does adore and spoil you rotten, he has always tended to let his business get in the way of his personal life. Itâs also hard to reach out to him over it, as he plans his next flashy showdown for whatever match is coming up, so communicating with him is hard. He can also be quite condescending to you when you do try to bring these issues to his attention. Overall, he just thinks that heâs doing the best for you and the team, and gets confused when the money and gifts he sends you arenât enough to cheer you up.
You are very business savvy as well as soccer strategy savvy. You help your father close down deals, which has helped you build a charismatic and likeable persona. As a result, you and Ninja both share the role of being the face of âCosmos FCâ, with you being the star of your fatherâs hotels and business ventures and Ninja being the face of the soccer team. When it comes to cheating, youâd rather not do it yourself because youâd hate for it to be tied back to you, but are very good at flipping the script and erasing any ties to Cosmos. However, that doesnât mean youâre not opposed to cheating at all, especially when there is a lot riding on a game. Itâs all just business in your eyes.
You do like your team, you think theyâre all pretty fun, but you also think that theyâre all prima donnas. When they get a big head about their fame or have a little stardom meltdown, youâre usually the one who gets sent to calm them down and get them ready for the cameras. They take what you do for granted, honestly. So every once in a while, you have half a mind to just quit and go on a nice vacation far away from them. However, they always manage to redeem themselves in your eyes, somehow.
