This was my 4th road marathon with a long break about 3 years ago I ran in Standard Chartered HK Marathon (got my PB there!). I was injured due to plantar fasciitis last year that made me stop running for almost 6 months and I replaced it with cycling and swimming (don't ask bout my swim. A lot diff story there). . . HCMC usually is hot and humid but at race day it was 21c and being with my friends made it much fun except gotta wake up at 0315am for a 0430am start. I don't have any expectation in this race knowing my run weekly mileage is only 50-60km. My first time also running marathon in SE Asia (all the runners know how hot and humid the condition). . . Running is like a moving meditation. I thought about how blessed I am to be healthy, to be able to run without injury, and I wish the same thing to my families and friends. Thinking a lot about my sister back home too. . . Thanks to Alex and Anna who made do long run with you in Saigon and also to Christine for doing it with me in Hanoi. For Andy to let me have play date with Charlotte. Again thanks to The Crazies for always letting me join their run/swim/bike whenever I'm in Saigon. . . Race report: flat course with some bridges, road closures, well-marked, enough water & electrolyte drinks, banana, energy gels. Live music. I smiled whenever I saw runners dancing a bit when they run passed the live band. Also I got so motivated when I saw my friends on the opposite directions. And best part when you can hear the loud music which means finish line is closer!! #roadrun #marathon #techcombankmarathon (at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) https://www.instagram.com/p/B51h69onCUM8UCDGCv-qEGP1zY5Mtt9SXFuEWw0/?igshid=yz5dtx6rw4xz
