The Technics SL-1200 is REBORN! Some have called this beloved turntable “the most important musical instrument of the last two-and-a-half decades”. At this weeks CES, Panasonic unveiled a new version of this classic that has been out of production since 2010.
The original SL-1200 came out in 1972 and was a HUGE hit with audiophiles, and then quickly spread to use in clubs, radio stations & recording studios. For 2016, the design looks very much the same, but the direct-drive motor now has some hi-tech improvements with microprocessor-controlled vibration suppression. And for those who want something extra special, there is a limited production run of just 1200 units that will feature an exclusive magnesium tonearm.
So get your vinyl warmed up for some spins when the new SL-1200 hits the street this summer.
