Named after the legs, or โtearsโ, you see on the side of your glass after swirling, @TearsofLlorona is an extra anฬejo tequila produced by Master Tequilero Germaฬn Gonzalez. Germaฬn is a great-great grandson of General Manuel Gonzalez โ president of Mexico in the late 1800s. His father owned a small agave farm in Jalisco and distilled fine tequilas. When his father passed, he started making his own tequilas, borrowing the copper pot still of a close family friend. While his signature tequila is @T1_Tequila, he has now branched out into the super-premium market with his @TearsofLlorona Extra Anฬejo Tequila. As you might guess, @TearsofLlorona No. 3 Extra Anฬejo Tequila is the third limited release of Germaฬn Gonzalezโs personal masterpiece. This tequila is 100% Weber Blue Agave. The agave hearts, or pinฬas, are slow-roasted in the traditional way and fermented with a proprietary yeast strain. Unlike most tequilas, ยฝ of Tears of Llorona is aged in scotch barrels, ยผ in sherry casks, and ยผ in Spanish brandy barrels for five years. Germaฬnโs goal was to create a tequila that rivaled fine cognacs and scotches in depth and complexity.
