Meet my silly squad of Wither Shard and Star chasers.

Some big dimension hopping lore / science I’ve made…

The “In-Between” is a reference to the space between dimensions when hopping. In the “In-Between”, you find dead universes or remains of destroyed ones. No stars exist here and cannot be reached by Astrals [at least - not easily] and is basically a hallway to other dimensions.

Getting stuck out in the middle of the “In-Between” is typically a death wish, but not for “Drifters” like Solstice. [D.Sun] Drifters are people who roam the “In-Between” or even inhabit it. Because the plane is so vast, you will likely never find another Drifter here if you don’t have another one already with you.

The best to map markers in the “In-Between” are dimensions, but those do often move. Not drastically, but subtly like an ever-changing maze depending on the events of said universe.

Ruin and Nexus were temporary inhabiters of the In-Between.

Solstice is a permanent Inhabiter.

Eclipse is well educated on it since his time with the Star, and is able to traverse it, but dares not to try for its dangers. Though - it’s an interesting study.

The home that Solstice brings Nexus and Ruin to is a ruin inside the In-Between. It is not stable enough to be a dimension, and is further decaying by the decade.

I would like to see Eclipse and Sun talking to each other about their children someday.

was ruin known by many dimensions people after ruin killed many dimensions, or something else?

Ruin was a threat to planets at first while he was in war and looking for the Wither Shard. It wasn’t until his escape from V-42 (his dimension) that he became a multiversal threat. Even then, his story reached very far.

Some of the writings and posters that have made it across the universe - and eventually, dimensions:

#1 - The Broadcasts

Não (Ruin’s Creator) films Ruin with a pre-written script of warnings, commands, and information about the war that is going on, and how it will end. These repeated constantly, 24/7, across any and every screen that wasn’t visibly corrupted for fear mongering effect.

Civilians did not run from these broadcasts. They stayed. Because every once in a while, the televisions would change with announcements from the same cloaked figure to command them to safety.

This video is often used to show the severity of Ruin’s existence. It’s physical evidence against him and is treated somewhat like “lost footage” or “analogue horror” by worlds that don’t take it seriously…that is, until Ruin pays their planet a visit.

#2 - Propoganda

One of the main posters that are thrown across the post-apocolyptic world. A call for remaining humans to surrender themselves for some greater plan, though many didn’t agree. Though, Não did his best to suffocate the survivors with constant propoganda.

#3 - Wanted Poster

This poster is released after Ruin’s departure for the Wither Shard. The earth, with Não and Ruin is monitored by refugees and other extraterrestrials for a while. The situation severely escalates when the most dangerous solider gets pushed onto a mission to hunt for a shard to extend The Creator’s reach. It becomes a hunting mission very quickly. Civilians are told to hide, fighters are told to always be at arms. If they can stop Ruin from completing his mission, they can stop Não from reaching to other planets, then other dimensions. What they didn’t know was that Ruin was sabatoging his own mission half the time while keeping himself alive.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: war, guns, implied murder.

This is an old mini-comic I drew on magma that I figured is relevant to show off!!

Ruin had a LOT of “tweaks” done when Não (His Creator) took him. This is one of them, Ruin has a literal aim bot built into his systems. This is why his main weapon of choice is a sniper.

He tries to create excuses to avoid guns, because he can self sabotage mid-battle much easier if he has to rely on his body.

NOT HATE / CRITICISM - PURELY HEADCANONS

I draw the “platonic sparkchip” duo a LOT, but not out of “omg i ship them” (friendly reminder I DON’T SHIP CHARACTERS UNLESS IT’S CANON!! Very rarely do I deviate from this!!!)

I do it because BEFORE THEY EVEN KNEW EACH OTHER, I always knew they’d understand each other best and would be an amazing caretaker + wounded duo.

Ruin has 50 years of patience and emotional experiences on his back. He can understand and preserve through Eclipse’s issues and give him all the time he needs without becoming impatient like many other characters do. On top of that, Ruin has “Eclipse experience”, just by universe hopping for 3 years and meeting Eclipse upon Eclipse along with others. He knows Eclipse inside and out like he knows every other character. Especially since their stories are so closely bounded together.

Ruin sees Eclipse like a wounded wolf. He knows damn well Eclipse isn’t going to tend to himself nor let anyone else tend to him - especially when he sees himself as above them (in the food chain). But, his patience will allow him to get through to him and hopefully help him learn to not bite the hand that feeds.

Eclipse on the other hand tries to mask his unfamiliar sentimentality as “they’re too important as an asset to lose” when the reality is “I’m not letting you hurt me by dying after I let you get so close.”
