My role and working style in our team
Great things in businesses are never done by one person, theyre`re done by a team of people. In this post I will reflect my personal role and working style in a team. I have been working with several different teams and have had great and not so great experiences. I have also played football for over ten years and experienced the team work in sport. ”Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships” These words were said by Michael Jordan one of the greatest players in the history of basketball and a succesful businessman.
My goal in team working is everytime the same, achieve the best possible result whether it was a business project or a football game. The most important aspect is to give 100% of me and get the best from my colleagues in the work. It is important to enjoy the projects and have fun, when you are having fun and working effectively you learn new thing and achieve the best result.
Visiting the team role inventory site Belbin. I found the ”The teamworker” most desciribing my behavior in a team. Helping the team by giving support and encouragement. It is important for me that everyone in the team is feeling comfortable. I am result-oriented, reliable and a good listener. Strenghts of me in a team that I found common was ”helping to maintain a positive team atmosphere” and resolving difficulties.
I find the Article of How Personalities Affect Team Chemistry, “Pioneers, Drivers, Integrators, and Guardians” in the March-April 2017 issue of Harvard Business Review very interesting. In the classification system to help companies better understand personality styles and capitalize on their cognitive diversity leaders also must be aware of not to favor people that think as they do. A good personality assessment can help hiring managers to know which soft skills and behavioral interview questions they should pay attention to during the interview. Personality assessments helps to know the values, motives, and preferences of employees and will help of knowing what they need as an employer to stay engaged.
