Epic swim last night. 🌧 ☔️⚡️⛈ ☔️⁣⚡️ ⁣ We had a small window to get in our 4,200 yard swim. The thunderstorm decided to hit sooner than expected and we had to make a hasty exit as ⚡️and 🏊🏻‍♀️🏊🏻‍♂️don’t mix. 😱 Walked along the edge of the lake in full wetsuits and googles in torrential down pour trying to avoid slicing up our feet on the rocks. 🤣 Pretty darn hilarious site as we were walking back to our car. Triathlon - It's not about finding your limits. It's about finding out what lies just beyond them. ~ unknown⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ St. Patty’s day run was mentally hard on tired legs!! Sometimes you just have to be your own cheer squad to keep going when you want to stop. Flashback to the beautiful bike course at @ironmantri Waco 70.3 ⁣ After completing 5 Ironman 70.3 races in the last 2 years, Waco 70.3 was by far my best one overall. I knew a sub 3 hour bike was a really loooong shot but I came pretty darn close with a time of 3:05:23 and as for the run I was hoping for a sub 2:15 and came in at 2:13:01 🙌🏻⁣ ⁣ Needless to say, a great finish to one of the toughest 12 months of my life between shoulder surgery a year ago, losing my daddy, my mom being diagnosed with breast cancer and finishing 2 Ironman races in those same 12 months. Training for these races is probably the one thing that kept me from turning to food and alcohol to cope.⁣ ⁣ Thank you to my amazing family, my fit family, my tri team, my friends and many of you here on IG for being there to support and encourage me.
