"We need to get the bullet out..." //hello again
hurt rp starters, not accepting; smooches you at your return
( we were friends, you and I )
It started off with such a silly dream that they could stick together until the very end. Innocent and hopeful thoughts, grandiose promises made by children, but promises they made that were meant to keep. How silly and naive they were then, collecting fireflies at dusk and beetles in the afternoon, counting days of summer until school started. How silly they were to think that daisy chains linked upon flower crowns placed upon heads could connect them just as strongly. How good it was back then, but like all good things, they must come to an end and like all mortal men, no matter how strong or swift, he went down the moment the bullet hit its target.
( but we only held on )
He has been cut before, a knife slicing through skin and muscle. He has broken bones before, the snapping at the right angle and force. He has been shot before, some with clean shots and others with shrapnel embedded within. A beautiful stream of curses were harshly whispered from the brunet’s lips, enough to make a sailor blush and make several of his ancestors turn in their graves. Just because he has been shot multiple times before did not mean it hurt any less. In fact, it stung and there was a good chance he will ruin his lip from biting it. A hand is clasped over the wound as tight as he can, the stickiness of blood seeping through his uniform and between his fingers.Â
Tooru does not need to look at the wound to know it would be an ugly one, but the captain knows better than to move too much. There is enough damage already and he tries to slow his breathing ( remain calm ). So much for going to dinner at a reasonable time. The thought only makes him laugh quietly and briefly. At the sound of footsteps, his gaze sweeps from the growing wet splotch in his side and to the man that comes.Â
( so we could let go )
Well this was quite interesting wasn’t it? Considering their first encounter hadn’t gone so well, Tooru had figured the other would have stayed far, far away. “There is no we.” That is a statement of fact. He barked out a laugh then, bitter and full of resentment ( self loathing ) for what they have become. Two former friends on the battlefield, lost and out of touch, so conveniently upon opposite sides. And now, was the other trying to make amends? To fix what broken bond or broken bridge that lay between them both despite the giant gap ( this abyss ) that lies in the middle? Please. Save your strength, he wants to hiss, don’t waste your time.
A shaky exhale, a rush of air that makes its way past his lips. He has orders to carry out and so does the soldier before him. There is no we. There will be no we. Not now, not ever ( not any more ). Tooru grunts as he pulls himself half way up into a sitting position, teeth gritting down upon one another at the pain that shoots up his side and the blood that continues to flow. “Just leave me the fuck alone, Iwaizumi Hajime.” Since that’s exactly what they have been doing all this time ( leaving each other alone ). At least let him die in peace with what dignity he has left.
( have I become nothing to you? )
