I know I post a lot of randomness but this is pretty important ...
Atticus VanSlyke is one year old and experiencing Stage 4 neuroblastoma with a large tumor on his adrenal gland, one on his liver, and metastases in his lymph nodes, bone marrow, bones, and skull. He was just diagnosed after a battery of tests & scans less than a week ago.
This video is of Atticus roaring on the night he started chemo (11/3/2014)!

His parents Krys and Melissa are awesome parents and great community members who are doing everything they can (with the help of Phoenix Chlidren's Hospital) while trying maintain as normal a home life for their two daughters during this difficult time.
Donating to the #TeamAtticus fundraising site is just one way to help:

You can also be scheduled to provide a meal (home-cooked or purchased) for the family:

The wonderful Carrie Seckman is organizing a garage sale in the east valley over November 13th & 14th & the proceeds will go to help the VanSlykes. You can find info on donating items or just attending in the FB event page:

A lot of folks have asked about donating blood (Atticus = blood type A-). While donations of blood won't go directly to Atticus, there are plenty of people who will benefit from your donation of whatever kind of blood type you can offer. United Blood Services AZ can help you find where to donate:

And of course, you can offer your positive thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and the like directly to the family and through your faith communities as well.
Here's where you can keep up to date with Atticus's story:

I hope you can take the time to learn about what Atticus is facing and can help out in some way.
