Okay, just saw another user talking about how weird it is for people to be celebrating Rhaenyra's death, especially when her death is rooted in misogyny and a nasty system that's meant to favour a crippled shrivelling rapist man than a woman who's been sworn as heir to the throne. And it reminded me of something I came across a couple hours today.
This screenshot I took while on X. A user made a tweet stating that they couldn't wait for the day we see Rhaenyra dying. And then attached an image of her being burnt by sunfyre. They went on to say something more nasty shit that I can't even add on here because it's so misogynistic and just gross.
We have actually managed to lose our minds over a fictional show and that's deeply worrisome. Never once did I imagine we'd get here, to the point there's folks on Tumblr with blogs dedicated to making ai images and videos of the women in this show being brutalised and assault.
This is a case I tend to have with people who also make AI images and videos of Alicent being beaten or hit, it's just disgusting. Beyond horrible. This is a character whose entire lzifeyabd arc has been controlled by men. She's been subjected to so much abuse in her life and yet somehow, fans answer and respond to that with more abuse?? Like genuinely speaking, what is wrong with some of you? And I wouldn't be making this post if it was all just twitter discourse because I know not to take any of that too seriously but then way too many people on here are becoming that way. Like genuinely why?
