My roman empire is that the conversation that Steve has with Nancy in season 4 about wanting a ton of kids is supposed to illustrate that they both want different things in life
Steve wants to settle down and have 6 kids
Nancy wants to pursue a career and build something else with her life
And there's nothing wrong with wanting either of those things, they just want different things and thats okay
Stancy shippers do not actually like Nancy Wheeler
because what do you mean you think Steve was right in thinking they should deviate from the mission the bring Nancy flowers when they were suppose to be tracking hopper in hopes to find Vecna's hideout and also HOLLY IS MISSING!
what part of Nancy Wheeler's character makes you think that she, at this time, would appreciate flowers when you're suppose to be looking for the literal monster who is the reason her parents were brutally attacked and her little sister is gone?
also let's not forget that Steve told Nancy he wanted marriage and 6 kids last season and she said that that sounded like a nightmare.
and Jonathan's frustration with Steve is warranted, its implied Steve has been trying to get Nancy's attention for the last 18 months knowing she has a boyfriend.
also die hard Steve fans, let me hold your hands while i tell you this, you can love Steve AND admit he was in the wrong. its ok, it doesnt mean you love him any less.
Stancy shippers do not actually like Nancy Wheeler, they only care about what Steve wants and Steve's happiness.

Lmao⌠it was always this bad lmao. Steve Stanâs and stancy Stanâs and anyone that hates Jonathan (and Nancy tbh) have always been dreadful. Having to deal with billy Stans⌠people pushing weird not canon ships for no reason but just because⌠no itâs always been awful. The fandom is stupid. And Iâm in the fandom, which means I am also stupid. But Iâm aware of my own stupidity. Others are not aware of it. And keep being stupid.
But at this point Iâm like: let them be awful. Theyâre all gonna have egg on their faces come July 1st.
Btw⌠just wanna talk about this one: this fandom is obsessed with trying to make Steve a victim and all âoh poor baby boo-boo!â or whatever⌠every single fucking season, we get fandom and articles saying âis Steve gonna die!? Oh my god heâs gonna die!?â like yâall STFU! Steveâs not dying! No matter how much you want to force a cool plot onto him⌠itâs not happening! The show refuses to kill off the one character that the idiots in the fandom want them to⌠and they choose to ignore⌠why tf do yâall think theyâre gonna kill off their golden egg??? Sorry⌠had to rant.

The real reason for Jancy hate
I canât help but wonder if some of the dislike in Stranger Things fandom for Jonathan Byers and Nancy Wheeler correlates with fandom circlejerking over Steve Harrington.
Come on, I canât help but feel that because people adore and love Steve so much (more than he deserves, to be frank), theyâre going to hate on everyone thatâs ever wronged him. I mean, seriously, @jancys-blue-bayou has nicely pointed out in a few metas that the dislike for Jonathan and Nancy didnât really take off until after they became a couple in season 2, around the same time Steve started his redemption arc.
And this Steve circlejerking is annoying. Eeveryone completely kissing his ass and hating on Jonathan and Nancy full time is like a broken record. Even now I still see people who drag Jonathan for the photo incident in season 1 (which they really didnât do until after Nancy dumped Steve and hooked up with Jonathan) and drag Nancy for having a drunken meltdown at the Halloween party because Steve wasnât being a helpful support system at all (which was basically her breakup speech).
