Design based off of axolotls
Gender/pronouns are literally whatever you want to call it. Pang doesn’t care what it’s called (though in this post I’ll be using “it” for simplicity’s sake)
A fear-powered entity that uses the fear of its hosts to be granted the power to exist. It’s pretty much a parasite (and has fun being one!)
Made up of some weird unidentifiable matter. It looks like flame, but definitely isn’t.
Shifts into or brings about the hosts worst fears, over and over again if need be.
It’s method is simple. The host that Pang latches itself onto is delved so deep in their fears over time that it becomes their new reality. Until illusions and forms and whispers drive the host to madness. However long that may take, it can feed on the current fear in the meantime. But the point of all that is to stabilize its true form for a while. Its overall goal is to get the hosts soul to be consumed by fear entirely. Then they devour it, and the host is left an empty shell. Finally at peace. This stage stabilizes Pang’s existence for the longest amount of time. After it senses that form fading again, it’s off to find a new host and repeat
The longer Pang is with a host, the easier it is to reach deeper into their memories and find new fears to exploit. That’s why it prefers going after potential hosts with multiple, or more complex, fears. Gives it more opportunities!
Pang finds the whole thing funny and an amusing pastime, despite its life being on the line every time. And the minor annoyances that come with
When shifting into a person, there’s always a hidden eye somewhere on them. The host can rarely tell in their fear, though
It can also shift the environment around if the fear is less concrete or relies on said environment. It’s a real storyteller! Scenario creator!!
Likes working under the guise of “nightmares” at first. Next it will try things out when its host is alone. After enough time, even around others. Though, Pang is unpredictable and will sometimes switch things around
Doesn’t gain the actual abilities of the person if it shifts into one. Only the illusion of them. If it’s lucky, that’ll trick the mind enough to do Something Funny (a reaction caused by genuine psychological distress)
Grew particularly fond of the doom bros in a weird sort of way after finding them. So much fear to feast on from all three of them, just hidden away!
It VERY much likes Terios
Pang actually knew about team gem before this whole fiasco the doom bros can’t seem to pin a source to. It found them not too much earlier. Team gem were also fun to figure out, they just weren’t working out long term. It’s particularly fond of Evelyn out of the three for reasons, but Doleon and Starline are close behind.
Gets to have a mouth sometimes for. dramatic effect?
