I also recently decided I wasn't happy with the way I was doing the reference sheets and want to try a different approach, but also realized I needed to simplify some things down to make them easier to draw multiple times. I also want to practice expressions a little, and eventually I'm going to have to suck it up and practice backgrounds (I may have been dreading doing it and subsequently avoiding doing so 👀💦) but here's a look at the main team so far

One of the things I desperately needed to simplify is the collar, I really wanted to keep the nine tailed theme with it, but I couldn't make it work without it looking chunky. So I compromised by having 3 groups of 3 tufts so it's still technically 9, but WAY easier to draw. And I think I like the overall design better too. With the Relic fragment, I was heavily considering redesigning it completely like I did with the Time Gear Altar, but I couldn't justify changing the design entirely so I simply made it a little easier to draw.
