some interesting things i noticed in the season 4 intro related to byler color theory.
[context: byler color theory refers to the theory that mike and will in stranger things are associated with the colors yellow (will) and blue/teal (mike), as well as green which is yellow and blue combined.]
we start off with a paperboy tossing newspapers to a bunch of houses.
the first house has BRIGHT teal doors, as well as a yellow car. the paper is thrown right at the front teal door. this is what caught my attention first because what an odd color choice for an otherwise very boring, muted house? - and it pretty perfectly matches the color of mike's shirt this season.
then we get a close-up of the paperboy where we can finally see the basket on his bike - which has heart cutouts on it (!!)
the next house has a very vibrant green car, as well as more heart imagery in the design of the railing leading up to their door. the paper is thrown in the direction of the green car, landing on a chair next to it.
the next house doesn't have any blue, yellow, or green, but it does have what i think is a rose bush. roses symbolize romantic love.
the next house has a bright teal car parked in front of it, which the paperboy hits directly on the bumper with the paper. (remember.. he is pulling these papers out of a basket with hearts on it! basically smacking anything and everything teal... which is mike's color)
the final house is painted entirely in teal, and gets a paper thrown at its teal door.
we find out it's brenner's house, as he's shown starting his day before work.
where he then goes, into the RAINBOW ROOM, a room with giant rainbows on the floor and walls.
