TEA WEEK!
Chai is such a comforting flavour, it makes a good chai loaf. Another H recipe. She has this to say:
Lining the bottom of the pan with parchment paper is brilliant. Tinfoil also works just as well. Don't try waxed paper.
Works fine with 1% milk (or soy milk!) so don't bother getting whole milk if you don't already have it
For stronger chai flavour, steep about 2/3 cup boiling water with 2-3 teabags, then use 1/2 cup of this instead of the prepared green tea, and add an extra 1/4 tsp cardamom to the batter.
For the glaze, start while the cake is baking: stick a couple teabags in the 6tbsp milk and warm it in the microwave, let it steep until the cake is done or it tastes strong enough. You'll probably only need to use 4 tbsp of this in the glaze. Use 1/4 tsp cardamom and 1/4 tsp cinnamon instead of the 1/2 tsp cinnamon.
Here endth tea week! Good week! Back to normal scheduling tomorrow.
