121 Drafts, Revisited
A while back, I questioned why I write so many drafts and never actually post them.Â
Part of it stems from the fear of sharing my ( true ) life story, because itâs scary to be vulnerable. While this blog is supposed to be for others ( and myself ) to learn through my experiences, Iâve forgotten that and have instead, attached weight to the image I present of myself to you reading here. That is something I want to learn to let go -- to be honest and share whatâs really happening in my life and not the fantastical, edited, âperfectâ version where the lessons are skewed in favor of making my life look like all is going well.
Another part is that I realized drafts are my way of communicating to myself. Where I might not be sure where Iâm going with an idea, but itâs something important and exciting floating around in my head that I want to explore in the moment. I have a few of these âepiphanyâ moments everyday, where theyâll often fade away if I donât get them down on paper, but I donât often go back to revisit them ( or make them shareable ).Â
I used to think these unpolished thoughts wouldnât be interesting for others. That they werenât worth reading because they werenât refined or curated for whoâs reading. But it goes back to the reason why Iâm writing this blog -- to share my life and my story. Itâs not supposed to be about refinement or an audience in-mind, but about the observations and moments that I experience.Â
Maybe these drafts are a look into my inner thoughts. Maybe theyâll reveal something useful to someone passing by. Theyâre not doing anything useful in the draft box ( like this one was ), so maybe Iâll just share them to see what happens.Â
