When Elinor first met Basil, she had no idea what to make of him. He was handsome, intellectual, and very very quirky. It was one of those moments where she was compelled to talk to him and after that first conversation she had to talk to him more. Eventually these encounters became something more and she kissed Basil while caught-up in the moment. Ever since then they have had a complicated and somewhat awkward relationship. It wasn’t an easy one either; Basil didn’t really care much for romance or emotions and Elinor was practically gushing with those two things almost all of the time.They bickered about little things like that and sometimes it seemed impossible to get past either of their stubbornness.
Yet somehow these two worked. It took a very long time for them to sleep in the same bed, and their first time was full of nerves and slow movements because neither of them wanted to do this wrong. Luckily they did not and Elinor was able to have the most beautiful baby boy. Their wedding was simple and Elinor’s family gushed over Basil while he held her hand the entire time. She was happy with Basil, and seeing him experience and develop deeper emotions towards her was worth the waiting and such. Elinor took Basil to where she was born and eventually they decided to leave the circus and start a life together somewhere new. Sure, they missed the circus but life did not stop. Basil still did the same kind of work he did before and Elinor was finally able to become the stay-at-home mommy she wanted to be. Her time came before Basil, but it was at the point where their son was all grown-up and she was able to be a grandma for a little while. She passed away in her sleep, looking as beautiful and youthful as ever and her last thoughts were about how happy she felt and how she could finally feel as if she did everything she wanted to do in this life.
